Nice camera

M.V.ADCOCK, Amazon
2 May 2014
  • Summary: Camera arrived promptly and very well packaged. The setting for producing little video clips ahead of taking a photo is really great and has produced some great little informal moments. A couple of strange battery moments on switching on when the camera reports it needs charging even though I know battery is already well charged. Removing and replacing the battery has sorted this out twice but is this a 'feature' or a developing fault?

Great camera, shame about the user manual

isogen, Amazon
29 January 2014
  • Summary: I have been a keen photographer for 40 years and although these days I am less inclined to wander around with bulky camera bag, changeable lens, etc, and more prone to carrying a simple compact digital camera (almost always with me), I am still achieving respectable results. I have had 4 Canon Ixus cameras now and been pleased with all of them.

Excellent camera - pity about the lack of memory card!

S. A. Goold, Amazon
29 December 2013
  • Summary: This camera has all the features I wanted in a small, convenient portable camera. However, I was disappointed that it did come with a memory card so I was unable to use it before obtaining a memory card. I read the specs more carefully in future!

Good all rounder

Amazon Customer, Amazon
21 November 2013
  • Summary: Previously had a Canon IXUS and decided to go with Canon again after doing my research online. Nice compact size but with a very usable zoom. Still picture quality is very good for the class of camera with much less picture noise than some others I have used. The 1080p video recording is nice and can be accessed instantly with a dedicated record button which makes it much easier to capture spontaneous events.

So far so good!!

Lisa, Amazon
17 August 2013
  • Summary: I bought this camera to replace my canon ixus 80 is. There was nothing wrong with my camera it was just 4 years old and not great under low light conditions. I was worried about this camera as there weren't many reviews on Amazon but so far I'm very happy with it. I've taken a few practice shots and compared them to my old camera and can see the difference. The ixus range is simple to use.

  • Summary: Bit mingy that a memory card was not included.Description should have said this. Bought for my wife as one of several wedding anniversary presents so hope she likes it. To me it looks great, works great and is amazingly small for the features. It is of course a Which Best Buy.

User Review

Rebecca Cole, Cnet.co.uk

  • Summary: We only use the automated features of a camera and I found it difficult to find reviews which weren't written by experts - so hope this will be of some use. Getting photos in low-level light is always a challenge with point-and-shoot cameras, so I’ll focus on this here. We took pictures on both standard Auto and an automated function called Night Scene Mode, and the difference is remarkable.
  • Pros: The best night-time photos I've ever taken on an automated setting
