Summary: Very disappointed that this product did not come with an instruction book. I'm old enough to need one. All I need to know is probably available if I knew which buttons to press to find out. Consequently very disappointed and confused by the camera.
Summary: I bought this camera because I'd had a much earlier version (which had finally died after endless use) but this is less robust in some respects. The holder for the battery in the camera is flimsy and doesn't work well. I suspect it will break before too long which will render the camera useless.
Summary: It is a very smart camera - soft black and a pretty shape. It takes lovely snaps. However it seemed overwhelmed when the dynamic range was largish. Pictures I took in dappled shade had pale grey areas where there was too much light for it.
Summary: The camera is great for day light pictures but not good at taking night time pictures and far away pictures. Great to have in your bag for everyday use but not very good for other photos. I do like it a lot though.
Summary: It is an okay camera for its price range. I don't really like the ergonomics of the touch screen and sometimes I am pressing and I have to work hard at getting it register my pressing. It takes an useable photo and video for running my club and it entirely portable. I am glad I bought it.
Summary: Whilst the camera is small and light and picture quality looks good, the on/off switch is fiddly, the battery life rather short (make sure you buy at least one spare - more if travelling) and the touch screen controls can be 'hit and miss'
Summary: 1) The main appeal for me of this camera was its wifi ability. I watched the video on the canon website and relished the idea of being able to flick pictures from this camera to my phone/tablet/pc.... No! Would not connect to my wifi at all and I have had no other problems with my home wifi.
Summary: This is the second Ixus I've owned, the first being the 220HS. I bought the 240HS hoping it would be better. They are both beautifully designed and nice to use but they just don't produce very good results. Even in good light nothing is very sharp and there is a general smearing of detail.
