Excerpt: Bought this one for my wife as she found the G12 too cumbersome and more camera than needed. We show the images on Panasonic 42 Neoplasma screen and, quite surprisingly, the images are very sharp and the colours are all excellent. In use, the small size is a huge plus. It fires up quickly and the shutter lag is minimal and not a problem. We don't shoot sports or fast action very often and it is unreasonable to expect a camera like this to keep up with a Canon 1dx.
Excerpt: This one is based on the 1/2.3" BSI sensor that works great in low light. Lens is quite good except at both wide & tele. The 24mm wide is VERY useful though. Hidef, 1080P video is very good, it can optically zoom while recording, the video has no compression artifacts and audio is in stereo. The image stabilization works also very well. The 640x480 video at 120fps is awesome to have, finally a decent resolution for this slow mo effect.
Excerpt: I was happy to see Canon start to come to their senses and decide to take a chance on quality rather than marketing side-show flim-flams. The camera this unit replaces had a higher pixel count (14 mp) and lower picture quality. I owned the SD1400is, and it was mostly a disappointment. Noisy and soft. This camera is better. In fact it's pretty darn good. Good detail and reasonable dynamic range.
Excerpt: I am LOVING this little camera! I'd been looking into purchasing a "fit-anywhere-go-everywhere" sort of camera for a while and thought I would pick up the Powershot S95 (though I was uneasy about spending so much for a digicam.) The 300 HS looked like a contender but I couldn't find it anywhere locally and I really wanted to feel it my hands. When I arrived at the store to buy the S95 I found a shipment of the new models had arrived.
