Summary: This is my third (and last) Canon. The first one I had was awesome, and I keep trying to find that same satisfaction with this brand. This latest camera did not take great photos. I notice they are darker, it has more trouble auto-focusing and it's just disappointing. This is my third Canon to break since 2009. The first one I got a couple years of use out of, the second one only about a year. This one I had for 6 months, and now the lens won't shut.
Summary: My 4-year old Canon Ixus 80IS finally gave up the ghost late last year (after dropping it on the floor many times) and I've been hunting for a good deal on cameras ever since. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the Ixus model here in the US. I researched online and found out that its US equivalent is Powershot ELPH 100 series. I waited (around 6 months) for the price to drop to $102 and then I grabbed it. It's well worth the wait!
Excerpt: This is my fourth compact .. and the cheapest ( E100 ). It seems to be an entry model and looks and feels like it. In the range ixus 40 / 50 / 75 I've owned it is still using the same battery. Build quality is quite poor compared to those. But as it is my everday backpack-cam I does allright. Image quality is decent but not spectacular. It is the kind of camera you take along in situations where you might expect it to get damaged or lost.
Summary: I have owned quite a few cameras in my time and this is by far the best. It takes sharp pictures and is ready for another shot RIGHT AWAY which is very important to me. I have not even learned to use all the extra cool stuff it can do like fish eye lens, but it is easy to get to these options with just a little time spent.
Summary: The old canon elph camera that I bought 7 years ago finally broke. The flap that holds the Scandisk wouldn't close anymore so I had to replace it. I've always been a Canon girl. They have a great and reliable product. I don't buy other brands. Love the hotpink color. I wish the prices don't change becuase of the color. I had to pay $15 more to get a pink one but oh so worth it.
Summary: This is a nice, light weight, compact camera. I have been impressed with the picture quality. The only problem I have, is the auto focus. We have a new grandchild, and by the time I push the button and the auto focus has to adjust, I usually miss the smiles! I am very pleased with the purchase price I got on Amazon, especially with the free one day shipping! I had this camera in less than 15 hours from the time I ordered it!
