Summary: I haven't been this impressed with a pocket camera, ever. It is: portable, affordable, easy to use, and just simply delivers good pictures and video in all kinds of light. Pros: Great image quality - seriously neck and neck with my S90 and kills the SD1400 and ZS3 I had previously amazing high ISO quality (for a compact, it's not going to hang with a DSLR) easy to use nice looking love the direct video record button solid build nice LCD lots of fun modes Cons: None...
Summary: I went to a friend's wedding with my old Kodak EasyShare camera. Some of the pictures did not come out really well, not as I wanted it to. So I got back home, and told my boyfriend that I wanted to find a good camera that will gives me a good picture and a memory to remember. So I sat down for few days and looked really hard for a good camera that I can trust. I researched Nikon, Canon, and Sony - since I know all three brands are good.
Summary: NOTE: see update at end or review I have a bunch of digital cameras, from older-and-low-resolution-but-still-useful to newer and fancy. Most but not all have been from Canon, since in my evaluations they have the best all around combination of quality company, support, features, build quality, price, user interface, etc.
Summary: This was an awesome gift for my friend. It's not easy at first to figure out but once you get the hang of it, it has a lot of options to choose from. It's more or less a fun camera and for some clear shots. It's takes fast pictures to and the color quality is good too. It has a large enough screen to view images. The only problem I just had though was it had a lens error and the lens got stuck and it hasnt been dropped or bumped.
Summary: I tried this camera for only a couple of hours before I put it back in the package and returned it. My only reason for the return was the fixed focus and no zoom-in/out during video recording, which my 2-year-old Canon SD1100 IS could do. It otherwise seemed to be a very good camera for an amazing price--good picture quality, good selections of picture modes, various ISO settings, etc. I'd believe this would be a very good camera if you do not care for video recording.
Summary: I previously had a Cannon Elph and LOVED IT! I had taken it to the beach, got sand in the lens and it never worked again.I tried another brand of camera and it couldn't hold a candle to the Elph. Returning to the Elph felt like going home again ;-) I am by no means a professional photographer so this does everything for me. I leave the setting on "auto" and when taking pictures it adjusts itself to the proper setting.
An excellent camera with a wide variety of features

Summary: I'm a mechanic. A small digital camera is almost always on my belt for quick access. I need a need a quick-start camera that's fast, easy-to-use that stores good EXIF information (leaving my iPad and Blackberry out of contention). After owning two Nikon digital cameras I purchased my first Canon in 2008, the SD750 (aka `old camera'). It worked well until getting caught by a closing car-hood.
Summary: I haven't had a new camera in some time and liked the ease of use and quality of the Canon brand. So i got this thinking it would blow me away, but it was somewhat disappointed. It's a great camera, but some photos were too washed out. The night photos were still blurry. All these advances don't seem to have made as much of an impact as i was expecting. Other major complaint. THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION IS WRONG!!!
Summary: I went on my consumer reports website and three canons were recommended for this price range. I called canon and the lady told me that this was the newest generation of the three and even though this camera had a slightly lower mega pixels rating, it would be for that reason that it would be easier to send pictures over the internet. This was the best camera for the price.
