Summary: I bought this camera because I am on a budget and the price was right. I had to replace my Lumix, which I loved but this got good ratings and was a better price. I have not gotten a good picture of my 2 year old son with it yet and it has been a year. Every single one has closed eyes or is blurry.
Summary: This is by far one of the worst purchases I've ever made. The lense is defective, it won't work, and I am out two hundred bucks. Busy with work, I made the horrid mistake of not trying this product out right when it arrived. When I finally did try it out, it would not work.
Summary: Took good pictures, nice zoom lens, but start up time and time to auto focus were extremely long. Dropped it just one time-from a coffee table to the carpeted floor-and the view screen cracked and became unusable. SquareTrade said it was not fixable, and paid me the value of the policy.
Summary: Most reviews sounded good, but the ELPH 510 specimen that I received took really bad pictures. There was a "pale spot" in the middle of each picture (i.e., really low contrast, just in that spot). Also, the pictures were generally blurry and did not have good coloring.
Summary: I purchased this camera in March. In May appproximately one-third of the time the camera refused to focus when I attempted to take a picture. After turning it off and on a number of times, it would eventually focus. The Canon support center had me restore the camera to factory de-fault settings.
Summary: Bought this camera in October 2013, nearly two years ago. I have used the camera very little in this time, probably 10 times and have taken around 300 pictures. This week, when being used, it took 3 pictures then froze.
Summary: This latest member of the Ixus family was an obvious choice when it came to replacing my old one - this was my third Ixus over the years and everyone has been technically brilliant, solidly made and pleasant to use. Until this one.
