  • Summary: My husband has SDR camera so I was looking for a small but intelligent camera then I bought this camera. It was perfect for me. Small, light, durable, easy to use, good quality picture and video. I recomment it.

  • Summary: This camera has LOTS of nice features. It is compact, sleek design; just overall clear pics and very good performance. My only complaint is I hate the red color of the camera. LOL! Would rather have liked a white, black, or blue camera.

Pocket Camera

TheNextGreenThing, Amazon
27 August 2010
  • Summary: Sometimes your DSLR is too bulky to be carrying around in certain situations. That is why I decided to buy this camera - for its portability and size. I hate it when at concert shows they deny my DSLR or when I am out and about with friends and you do not want to carry the DSLR. This camera is perfect for these occasions. It fits perfectly in my pocket and I love the feel of it.

Perfect Snapshot Camera

somerandomguy03, Amazon
18 August 2010
  • Summary: You really can't beat the size of this series of Canon snapshot cameras. It fits in your pocket without weighing you down or bulging, which makes it great to take to parties or a night on the town. I've had older generations, and am just as satisfied with this one. I filmed a space shuttle launch with the video feature of this camera, and the sound and video quality were much better than I had expected. Snapshot still photos are excellent.

Oligarch, Walmart

  • Summary: I used SLRs and compact 35mms (we used to call them rangefinders) for many years before digital cameras became available. It is fair to say they shaped the way I take photos. So, the optical viewfinder may be tiny (but, this is a tiny camera!) but I appreaciate that it is there. The LCD viewer on the back is wonderful, but it bright sunlight it is only margninally useful. Then, the viewfinder rocks!

Just when you think they can't make it any smaller!

C. Chu "Phil", Amazon
5 August 2010
  • Summary: I bought this camera (SD780IS) because my son broke my SD600. When I got the SD780 IS, I was amazed that this camera is even smaller or I should say thinner than my SD600. SD780 is about 20% thinner than SD600. However, SD600 feels sturdier than the SD780 IS. The only 2 features that SD780 tops SD600 are the HD video/audio and higher resolution. I think the picture quality for both model is about the same. Also SD600 is made in Japan where as SD780 is made in China.

Good pocket camera with viewfinder

Mr. Thomas J. Mortimer "tjm", Amazon
1 August 2010
  • Summary: I purchased this model because it was the only pocket camera I could find with an optical viewfinder. It has surpassed my expectations. See the two attached pictures. I wish the film strips could be generated in AVI files, but I can live with the MOV filetype.
