Faulty lens

Pamela Gusmer, Amazon
20 January 2014
  • Summary: The camera itself is fine - the problem is the 18-135mm lens that shipped with it. This was a "spare lens" for me in a range that I do not use frequently. I put it on once and it seemed to work so I packed away. I recently went to an event where I wanted this lens and noticed that the manual focus does not work. The focus ring is loose and does nothing - only the auto focus works which doesn't work for all needs.

Flash Buzzing sound

N, Amazon
20 January 2014
  • Summary: I recently purchased the Canon T5i and when I hold the shutter button half way down to focus, the flash makes a buzzing sound and goes off. I read some reviews that T3i flash has the same issue. This is my second T5i. The first one did not have the flash buzzing sound issue but when I used automatic mode the flash did not always pop up in low light, sometimes it would pop up and sometimes it wouldn't. I returned it and got the second camera with the flash bussing sound.

Good Camera & Lenses/ rest of the kit is mediocre

Pauline A., Amazon
3 January 2014
  • Summary: Love the Canon Camera & Canon lenses, but got 2 telephoto, and zero wide angle. Tripod is poor, Bag OK, but cheap. Should have shopped for just the camera and lenses, bought the accessories elsewhere.

Stop!!!! Do not buy if you don't have PhotoShop CS6

Justin Pitman, Amazon
25 December 2013
  • Summary: So, I was so excited to finally get a DSLR. I took the camera out to shoot and all went fine, the touch screen made things really quick and easy....Then I got home. I currently have Adobe PhotoShop CS5 and had problems viewing the photos I took. Apon searching the net I found out that the T5i will not work with any photoshop older than CS6. This is such bull S@%&!!! To clarify, I now have to buy a $1000 program to view my photos taken on a $800 camera. This is bull S&^$.

Do your research and don't bother with this kit, sub-par accessories, with a terrible 300mm lense

Benjamin D. Petersen, Amazon
8 August 2013
  • Summary: The accessories that come with this kit are a waste of time, the case is very flimsy and it feels like it will only last a year, the flash already broke, and it came with a 2gb card instead of an 8gb like the description stated. Lenses are okay, the 18-55mm is the winner here, but the 300mm lense isn't worth the investment. I wish I would've gotten the 250mm lense for telephoto zoom, the build quality is so much better.
