Conclusion: As mentioned in the title, I've had the camera for over a year and its performed wonderfully. My first shoot after the purchase was following the Big Apple Circus for a couple of days. The high ISO settings helped out with all the tricky lighting situations under the big top. I've since shot countless jobs, the performance and image quality has been excellent.
Pros: good battery life, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu
Cons: Missing features/settings, cropped view finder, does not have a pc socket
Conclusion: I am very enthusiastic about this camera. It was bought after carefully considering the 5DMkII and 5DMkIII. After looking at each camera this was by far the best choice. I am delighted with the camera both in the field and in the studio. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering getting a camera as a replacement or as the first digital camera. Some folks say it isn't a "professional" quality camera.
Pros: quiet, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Conclusion: After months of deliberation, I sold my 5d II and purchased the 6d with kit lens. So very happy that I did! The photos this combo produces are absolutely stunning. Great color, contrast and sharpness. This set-up is a little bit lighter than my previous, and has more features. Love the ability to use higher ISO and still have great shots. It is great for a beginner, as well as a more advanced shooter.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Excerpt: I am coming from using a Canon 60 D to this 6D and I am so pleased with my purchase. I love that it is a full frame sensor and definitely more affordable than the 5D Mark iii even though they have a lot of similar functions. Granted the Mark 3 has a few more bells and whistles, but definitely not enough to justify the price difference imo. The 6D is definitely ways to use especially coming from a 60d since a lot of their buttons and scrolls are located in the same area.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: The added Wireless and GPS functions are very useful.
You don't need to connect the cable or take out the memory card any more when you download the pictures.
The GPS logging (Geotagging) function is also great. Not only it pin-down where the picture was taken, it shows you the whole travel trail in Google map even when you are in the car.
Very cool, especially if you go hiking or go to safari.
Excerpt: Bought this to step up from the aps-c to full frame. Having looked at the differences, I decided the 5DIII not worth the extra money (which paid for more batteries and SD cards). As I auto focus using the centre point only, the 61 points on the 5DIII are best left to the likes of jobbing sports...
Excerpt: I upgraded to the Canon 6D from the Canon Rebel XLT and I love it! I haven't had to edit any of my pictures so far because of the fabulous quality and crisp images. I've only had it for 2 weeks and have taken over 1500 pictures. I would definitely recommend this camera!
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Quiet, Tilt /Swivel LCD
