Great quality in an easy to use design

Summary: Everything was as promised! Great quality in an easy to use design. I'm surprised how much I've already used many of the accessories and am able to carry most of these same items in the handy carrying case (included in the package)! The multi-shot feature is a must.....nicely done! The variable angle viewfinder is equally handy! I first thought the inclusion of the tri-pod was a bit much, but it has proven a good buy as well.
Summary: This is the first DSLR I've ever owned, and I'm absolutely in love with this camera. I started out using it in auto mode, and it delivered superb no-brainer results. Next, I began going through some of the DSLR courses on Lynda.com and have been exploring the wide variety of shooting modes available. (I highly recommend the Lynda Foundations series by Ben Long. It even includes a course specifically for this camera model. Very affordable, too.

Summary: I mostly wanted a camera that could snap photos continuously, unlike my old camera, which was re-acting more and more slowly. This does a great job of that AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT USING THE FLASH OR LIVE VIEW. Switch either one of those on and it takes six or more seconds, and sometimes even seems to be confused when you hear it trying trying trying to focus in and settle on a focus. NOT GOOD! Especially for the price! My old $250 camera was better than this with a flash.

Summary: This has been a great camera! Only draw back is that in high humidity (beach) situations the contacts on the lens to camera potion can become compromised and it will not take photos. I did some research online and this seems to be a common problem. Just be cautious when taking it from the cool of the AC out on the beach.
Summary: I like taking photographs. From point and shoot, to landscape, to events around town. LONG, long way from a pro - but I wanted something more than a point and shoot. After much research and playing with other peoples cameras, this camera was my choice. Good enough for everything I wanted to do, but affordable enough that I could justify buying it. Everything is as advertised. The items in the kit were as expected - with the exception of the bag.
Summary: Even after reading the other reviews, I still purchased the camera with the kit and couldn't be happier. Sure, the quality of the rest of the pieces isn't the best but this kit is perfect for a beginner photographer. With this kit, you learn how to use pieces that with time you can exchange for better quality.
