Cross Check 5D bundles

Chinmay, Adorama
13 October 2014
  • Excerpt: Please check your bundles before ordering. This bundle had a battery Grip which was manufactured by flash point but it was not clear until the order showed up in the order list. Canceled the order.

Not a trustworthy, bad investment, Stay away

keemman, Ebay
6 October 2014
  • Summary: Even though it is less than the USA official release of Canon 5D mark III, it is not the same because you will need to go through their bad customer service and they will keep tricking you saying oh but this not a defect and provide million reasons to run away from the responsibility. Another reason that I would stay away from them is that they would offer the camera for a certain price now but when you buy it, they drop the price $500 less.

Error 80 still on 12-4-13!

Typhoid Mary, B&H Photo
4 December 2013
  • Excerpt: Error 80 after 190 shots! No eyefi card so thats not the fault. Had to pull battery to get the camera to work again. Then it happened again a few shots later. Sent back for exchange. Cant believe Canon still hasnt solved this error 80 problem that was a big deal when the camera was first released (actually the stupid light leak was a bigger deal on the interwebs but this is a REAL problem). Over 3K for a camera and it has errors that stop you from shooting?
  • Cons: Error 80, No Af Conf In Af Servo, No Af Confirmation In Ai

Bad quality

peter, Canon
30 October 2013
  • Conclusion: Just got my new 5D Mark III. When the CF card I ordered arrived it did not work and tried 2 others that work with canon cameras. Would not even format. Today picked camera out of bag and the top of the mode dial fell off. Camera now off to canon service center and upset that I have to pay shipping on a warranty repair of a brand new camera. This on top of the use of the camera for about 2 weeks. Not a good reflection on Professional Quality Camera or customer relations.
  • Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, iso noise
  • Cons: Poor build quality, Heavy/Bulky, Complicated controls/menu, to many af options

updater still goofy

Keith, Canon

  • Conclusion: Canon has never been able to figure out that this product should update without having to have the CD. This is 2013 CDs are useless. Just let us download the installer.
  • Pros: Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
  • Cons: updates are annoyingly difficult, only eos utility is worth installing

paperweight

pdxpix, B&H Photo
19 January 2013
  • Excerpt: As a lifelong Canon shooter (Rebel XT, 40D, 7D, S45, S95) I finally took the bait with the 5D MK III and 24-105 kit. The camera lasted less than 100 shots before dying. No autofocus, no shutter release at all. More bizarre is when I turned the camera off, the LCD stayed on.Using OEM Canon battery and Sandisk CF cards. No error code displayed, but online search reveals many Error 80 codes with the MK III.Now I get to see how good B&H customer service is.
  • Pros: Looks Good In Ads
  • Cons: Doa Less Than 100 Shots
