Excerpt: Error 80 after 190 shots! No eyefi card so thats not the fault. Had to pull battery to get the camera to work again. Then it happened again a few shots later. Sent back for exchange. Cant believe Canon still hasnt solved this error 80 problem that was a big deal when the camera was first released (actually the stupid light leak was a bigger deal on the interwebs but this is a REAL problem). Over 3K for a camera and it has errors that stop you from shooting?
Cons: Error 80, No Af Conf In Af Servo, No Af Confirmation In Ai
Conclusion: Just got my new 5D Mark III. When the CF card I ordered arrived it did not work and tried 2 others that work with canon cameras. Would not even format. Today picked camera out of bag and the top of the mode dial fell off. Camera now off to canon service center and upset that I have to pay shipping on a warranty repair of a brand new camera. This on top of the use of the camera for about 2 weeks. Not a good reflection on Professional Quality Camera or customer relations.
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, iso noise
Cons: Poor build quality, Heavy/Bulky, Complicated controls/menu, to many af options
Excerpt: As a lifelong Canon shooter (Rebel XT, 40D, 7D, S45, S95) I finally took the bait with the 5D MK III and 24-105 kit. The camera lasted less than 100 shots before dying. No autofocus, no shutter release at all. More bizarre is when I turned the camera off, the LCD stayed on.Using OEM Canon battery and Sandisk CF cards. No error code displayed, but online search reveals many Error 80 codes with the MK III.Now I get to see how good B&H customer service is.
Summary: I would not buy a lens from Newegg because of this exact issue, I am not alone here with the shipping issues, and why they don't correct it is beyond me, or its just the old way to save a dollar and just take back what breaks, in my option how much more does it cost to use the correct size box and maybe 4 times as much paper or bubble packing, thats all it would take.
Pros: This camera is the best performing 5D currently. It will do anything you need as long as you know what you are doing. I needed a full frame camera as my business has grown and my 50D was aging. I was not looking to get this but when I received a 20% off promo, I checked all other websites to see if the price had dropped and it had not. So I jumped on the offer as it was a very good business decision. Been playing with it and I made a good choice, a camera that will la...
Cons: The reason for the 1 egg, is because shipping. I received the box that was 4 times the size of the product. When I picked it up the product inside the box slide till it hit the sidewall. I then opened up the box to reviled one 8 inch piece of packing paper (newspaper would have been thicker) so basicly the product was slamming around in this overside non correctly packaged box. If this was a cable or other non power or breakable item I would be fine, however a $3500 c...
Excerpt: It's giving me fits with the Auto focus. Has huge difficulty tracking subjects while keeping in proper focus. Focus points seem ok on a moving subject, but focus is unacceptable.. either fore or aft a high percentage of the time. Love it's low light abilities and when manually focused the sharpness of the image is superb.
Excerpt: This is just one man's experience but my 5Diii purchased in April 2012 has died on me after less than 3 months of very gentle use. It simply would not power on one day - no damage, no drop - just stopped working. Returned to Canon USA repair center at a shipping cost of $50 to me. A week later I have received the camera back with the service order saying the power supply was defective and has been replaced & all functions have been tested and confirmed as working -...
This is whay canon quit shipping these cameras for about three weeks
7 June 2012
Summary: Failed after four days-no photos at all after the fourth day continued taking exposures about every second with the remote removed, removed the battery and it again started up exposures every second (timer was set at one minute), removed timer still did it only removing batter stopped the sequence superb when it worked The camera failed to take photos using battery and remote-night shots Rebotted the camera and it would take an "exposure" about every second, nothing...
Summary: Im bit disapointed. This item lacks autofocus in video mode:(( I thought that it will be there (even my old mobile have it!!(all promos screems continues autofocusing).. Most of tutorials online reviews its ISO comparison with D800. But i quess everyone tryes to shoot in the lowest ISO as posibile, so that factor is ok in other brands. And plus there is another option to increase the light (like aperature, shutter speed) extra (cheep light source) and etc.
