Very nice "older" DSLR that get's the job done with quality pictures.

Summary: Great camera especially if you buy it used. When used to take photos to distribute on the web, email , etc, the pictures display true to life colors and overall very good quality. Even for family/vacation pictures shot at the higher quality settings, the 10.2 Megapixel sensor on this camera does a very nice job.

Summary: I bought this used and is extremely happy. It is my first DSLR camera and since I am a novice it would be a good tool to get my feet wet in the use of a professional camera. Also ordered lens so this weekend I will be trying them out because I have a cake for delivery.
Excerpt: Decided to get a new digital SLR for underwater photography. Look at quite a few cameras and decided to give the Canon a try. Was not disappointed. The quality of the pictures are very good. It took a little while to learn some of the funstion (in fact I am still doing so). For the price paid, the camera works extremely well. Other cameras that were being looked at was the Sony Alpha and the Nikon D-80.
Excerpt: Canon-EOS Digital Rebel XT is a pretty nice camera, it takes good pictures for sure. Just a little bit too heavy, hard to carry around. The lense part is hard to put on and take off. They should redesign that part. It would be really cool if it comes with video recorder function. Addition lenses are pricey. All in all, I like this camera. When we have some special events, we alwasy take this camera with us to record the special moment. Canon is the brand I trust.
Excerpt: if you want to take great photos and can't afford the top of the line Canon's, I highly recommend the Canon XT with a couple good lenses. I've had mine for about 4 years and love it! It takes wonderful pictures, with practice of course. Be sure and really learn how to use the camera and not only leave it on auto. Some day, I may have to upgrade, but this suits my needs for now. I mainly use it for snapshots of my 7 month old baby.
Excerpt: I purchased my camera for Christmas and so far I really enjoy it. i consider myself an amatuer photographer, but I enjoy trying new things, capturing memories and printing pictures for my family. I would definitly recommend this camera to anyone. Great battery life and great computer software as well.
Excerpt: this camera is really good for professional use or other uses like just taking a random picture. my friend has this and it is impressive. i love playing with it because there is a lot of options to choose from. it focuses really well and has really good pixels. this helps you see the many details in the pictures that you dont get with other cameras. it's a bit heavy but you can live with it. i think everyone will enjoy this digital camera.
Excerpt: Love this camera.. the only downfall is that it is so big.. It takes wonderful photos! a great camera for a class or for a pro! I have had this camera for a few uyears and have had no problems. i successfully run a photography studio and this camera is one of my favorite to use! I find myself going back to use it time after time.. I also find it saves me alot of time in post processing as well.
Excerpt: I am a serious amateur photographer. I bought my first dslr to photograph basketball games because slr's have little or no shutter lag and are suitable for action photos. I found that the kit lens wasn't a "bad" lens, but wasn't up to the task of indoor, low light photography and soon replaced it with a medium quality Canon ESF17x85 lens which cost $475.00.
