I took the EOS Digital Rebel XT to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park earlier this year and was able to fit the camera with three lenses (a Canon EF 70-300mm DO zoom, a Canon EF-S 60mm macro and a Tamron 11-18mm wide-angle zoom) into a small waistpack. Read more
The one complaint that many have is that the body is quite small. This might be a good fit for people with small hands who need a lighter body, but for people with big hands, the grip is not totally natural. With Canon’s optional BG-E3 battery grip, the camera is a much more manageable size and much more comfortable in my opinion. Up to this point in my ownership of the camera---two years---I have been quite happy with this camera as a camera to get into photography with. I have pulled quite a few shots I have been extremely impressed with. However, I was recently performing some lens sharpness testing, and in the middle of it, my mirror lock-up feature stopped working: it would not record an image at all while that custom function was enabled. I called Canon's technical support number, and the... Read more
