Summary: My one and only negative comment is that this camera is heavy... but it is packed with tons of great features, and well worth the price and the extra heft. Great for action photography, landscapes, portraiture, macros... any sort of photography you're likely to want to try.
Summary: I also own a Nikon D3 for comparison. The Canon's auto-focus and low light performance are noticeably improved over the Nikon.
Pros: Fast, precise auto-focus, outstanding low light performance, solid construction, dual CF card slots, unique situational focus modes, dual processors with one processor dedicated to focusing. Canon has an $800.00 rebate good until 03JAN2015 on the US spec 1DX.
Summary: I managed to find a low use used copy. It's not as flashy as the latest and greatest models, but it can help create first rate images. There is more to "megapixels" than a number. It is very easy to make 13" x 19" prints from this camera without additional processing.
Summary: I received this camera and a 24-70 mm/F2.8 II lens as birthday gifts a couple weeks ago. The camera looks cool and awesome. Since I had been taking photos with point-and-shoot cameras (my most recent one is Canon G12), this 1DX is a lot complicated for me to handle.
Summary: There was a question about weather this camera is good for beginners or not. There was the comment I did not like. The comment was that you should buy a rable for beginner with automatic settings. I totally disagree. With an automatic camera you will never learn photography.
Don't let the 18 MP or price dissuade you from giving this body serious consideration

Summary: This is the best digital SLR camera in production right now. We finally have a full frame high frame rate camera that has excellent dynamic range, great resolution, and a compact flash card write buffer and write speed capability that has never been exceeded in my use of this body.
Summary: I have gone from the Canon Rebel and as I've grown as a photographer not only bought newer models but more professional models. Now I shoot with the 1DX and 5DIII. The 1DX is the most fun, fastest and best photo tool that I've ever owned.
