Great camera for amateur too especially if you get a good deal :)

  • Summary: This is much heavier that my 5Dii but it is much easier for me to focus onto the moving subject. Picture is clear and less noise, with the difference more obvious at low light. I got the camera from "Get it Digital", which provided me with a good sale service and great price.

Not disappointed

Senior, Canon
24 August 2014
  • Conclusion: I wanted this camera since if was introduced to the consumer world. I fought with myself over the price for a long time. I downloaded the manual and read it prior to buying the camera. It takes a lot to get use, sometimes overwhelming. I do 90% action sports photography. This camera is absolutely unbelievable to put it mildly. I just finished shooting an AMA Pro flat-track motorcycle race where the bikes reached speeds in excess of 137 mph.
  • Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, easy to use
  • Cons: Heavy/Bulky, Complicated controls/menu

  • Conclusion: I just purchased my new EOS 1D X and photographed some high ISO images with and without a flash. I was amazed at the fact the noise was just not to a level that ruined the image. I shot with a ISO setting of 51200. I am very impressed with my new EOS 1D X. If you want to be the best then you need the best!! The Cajun.
  • Pros: Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, high iso image quality

User Review

Photography Review
20 June 2014
  • Summary: There is a lot to love and very little or nothing to criticize about this camera. I've owned it since it was introduced and cannot think of a single real complaint. Size and weight and price maybe. But there are good reasons for all of those. Speed, accuracy, durability, flexibility, performance amongst them.
  • Pros: Superlative in all respects. 12 fps (with optional 14fps jpeg mirror up), highly adaptive/customizable AF system that works nearly perfectly, bomb proof construction plus excellent high ISO performance.
  • Cons: Expensive but you get what you pay for.
