Why NO CLEAN HDMI????

pdm, Adorama
25 April 2014
  • Excerpt: First, I love the camera. Being a professional Cinematographer I have discovered the world of DSLR with the first 5D mark II, and now the 1 DX. But I am surprised that Canon seem to forget the buyers of their 1DX, when offering CLEAN HDMI out of the cheaper 5D mark 3, and not the 1DX? What happened there? I would love for canon to try to remember to facilitate the Professional segment also, and give us the possibility to get Clean HDMI and record externally.
  • Pros: Excellent Image Quality, Good battery life, Solid operation, Superior build quality
  • Cons: no clean hdmi out

Canon EOS 1D X

Mr. Roy, Crutchfield
26 July 2013
  • Summary: I purchased the Canon EOS 1D X right at its debut. It has completely redone the works of Canon's Pro Lineup. I have the 1D Mark IV , which was the Top Gun for sports photographers and has out performed the1DS Mark III which was the full frame camera for portrait photographers. The 1 DX combines the Two cameras into one, by making it the Best for Sports Photographers with quicker speed, more accurate autofocus, and for Portrait Photographers, with more megapixels, better...
  • Pros: The Canon 1DX is the Professional Flagship of Canon's EOS DSLR Lineup. It outperforms, in SPEED frames Per second, ISO lighting conditions, Accurately autofocuses quicker, longer battery life, better sealing for weather conditions and more focusing points for moving objects such as in sports and concerts with bad lighting conditions.
  • Cons: Lost the APH & APC sensor appeal that can bring your camera closer to a subject with a lens. Full Frame is actual, like the 1DX Camera. APH sensor is 1.3 X crop factor, which means multiply lens range by this to get focal length. And APC like the Canon 7D gives you a 1.6 X crop factor, which brings you even closer to your subject.

Uran, DP Review

  • Excerpt: I was fortunate enough to test the the canon 1DX against the Nikon D4 I have been shooting Nikon since 1979. For the work I do shooting dogs in action, horse shows eventing, wildlife, weddings, functions and calendars. The 1DX was the best also under for what I do. It was sharper in focus to provide significantly better detail of the hair on a dog, super IQ at functions at Iso 12800.

  • Excerpt: I have not tested the new firmware I plan on doing that this Saturday. I shoot sports, mostly football. I own the 1Dx and the 1D mark IV. I am shooting Manual, ISO 4000, 3.2f, speed 500 with a 70-200 2.8 L IS II lens. I have shot about 30,000 pictures with the 1Dx since I got it in July. I bought this camera because it is a must have when shooting in low light. I can shoot at ISO 4000 and get much better pictures than my 1d mark IV at ISO 2500.

Ai Servo has problem in low light and high frame r

Crusader, Canon
6 October 2012
  • Conclusion: I have shot about 10 football games averaging 3,000 photos per game. I have shot 4 soccor games averaging 3,000 - 4,000 pictures per game. if the game is during the day in good light no issues, if the game is at nght the focus drifts off when i am following a player. it happens at the worst time because when a play happens that you really want you tend to rapid fire.
  • Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
  • Cons: ai servo issue in low light

Pretty Good Camera

MDW94, Canon
28 September 2012
  • Conclusion: The 1DX offers several improvements over its predecessors but is still far from perfect. The increase in speed and the advances in autofocus performance are the most remarkable aspects of this camera. Image quality is similar to the 1DsMark III but the high ISO performance did not meet my expectations after reading the promotional information.
  • Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
  • Cons: Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky

  • Excerpt: I too am a fashion photographer and I am often required to shoot in extreme lighting conditions. I'm presently shooting with the 1D Mark IV but what attracts me about the 1DX is that lovely Full Frame sensor. I recently had the opportunity to play with the 1DX in Yokohama, Japan at CP+ last month and I was blown away by the ISO performance.
