Conclusion: I bought new dslr for my wife that she wanted and waited almost a year to get my own camera. Now I own the best, It's so amazing! This thing helps so much in making a great shot that it's almost effortless. Go on get the best its worth it!
Conclusion: When in doubt, I always pull this camera out! It does the job really well! Executed everything I demand it do to! I went with this camera mainly for its low-light performance and the ability to focus anything my eye wants to focus. I'll make this review short. This camera made my life a whole lot easier! It's any professional photographer's dream. Heck, it made my dream come true! Thanks Canon!
Pros: speed, ultra fast autofocus, image quality, build quality, flexibility, low-light performance, low noise at very high iso, don't need fast primes, weather sealed
Conclusion: as both an indoor sports and portrait photographer, I've rented this camera numerous times, while saving up to buy it. Nothing matches this body for high ISO performance, almost noise free at 32000 with an awesome burst rate when needed ... black dogs running at top speed in low light are tack sharp and the detail is A M A Z I N G !!!
Conclusion: First time I used the camera was at the Army/Navy game on December 14, 2013. The game was played late afternoon (3PM) and in the snow, and eventually sleet/rain mix. The camera performed like a champ!! While playing with the camera at home, I shot a performance in a coffee house using available (candlelight) light at ISO 51,200 with minimal grain. Although a little pricey, this camera is well worth the price. Highly recommended!!
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, great low light performance
Conclusion: ima keep it plain and simple, because all of the facts and specs can be found on the website. This is my latest DSLR, I upgraded from the 1d mark4. This is my second camera from the 1d series, and I felt comfy, because the menus and controls were very familiar. I still haven't been able to find a negative thing yet about the camera. I just wish that the camera had more than one tripod hole at the bottom.
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Simple controls/menu, awesome iso range and response
Conclusion: I have had this camera for over a year now and I absolutely love it. The image/video quality in low light and at high ISO settings are almost mind blowing. I give Canon a lot of credit for going with the 18mp size sensor on their flagship model. The sensor, because it has the larger pixels, can capture more light per pixel, a more quality image in a slightly smaller package (which is also great for time lapse, as 35+ mb files add up much faster than 22 mb files do.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Excerpt: Best CANON SLR I have ever used, had several other bodies before, both film and digital, but this is just something special, speed and auto focus are on a different level to anything out there. The build quality is superb, and general handling is fantastic. Excellent camera, not perfect but then what is? I JUST WISH THAT DPR WOULD ONE DAY HOPEFULLY BEFORE I DIE, DO A FULL REVIEW ON THIS CAMERA!!! AND THE NIKON D4 AS WELL!!!
Conclusion: Note that I wanted to withhold a star for overall rating because there is no clean HDMI output (the 5D3 got that update a few months ago, but the more expensive 1DX has been snubbed! so far.). Canon, please get on this! But I withheld a star from features for this reason. Image quality is great; color, sharpness, low-noise. The High ISO capability has changed the way I take many still pictures.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
Cons: Missing features/settings, needs clean hdmi output like the 5d3 got, no focus peaking for live view/movies
Conclusion: I've been a photographer for over 40 years. I rented this camera before I bought it. The picture quality is the best I've ever seen with a digital or film camera. That's one reason I bought it. The other reason is I shoot a lot of motorcycle races and need a camera that can focus "fast". The 1Dx is a camera that's super fast for sports and also perfect for still life, models, whatever. It's not cheap, but the best never is.
Pros: quiet, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, fast focusing
