Ashley Joy, Amazon

  • Summary: I have had a Rebel for 4 years. I used it for school and then for my job. I snap anywhere form 50 to 300 photos everyday. My Rebel finally just went kaput. Thats ok. I bought this refurbished one for 100.00 which is 400.00 less than buying a brand new one.

Kris, Amazon
5 January 2010
  • Summary: I purchased the Canon XS as a Christmas present for my wife. But after playing around with it myself, decided to return it and purchase the XSi instead. Three reasons why...1) 3" vs 2.5" display. I think this makes a big difference.

NEVER WORKED

Overstock
4 August 2009
  • Summary: I bought this camera for my husband for Christmas. From the day he tried to use it, it was temperamental, it would turn on then it would power down after about 2-3 minutes. We would check the battery and it was always dead but would then recharge after a very short time.

Steven J. Turner "photo dad", Amazon
12 February 2009
  • Summary: "I should have spent the extra hundred and gotten the XSi" should have been the actual title to this review. My dissatisfaction revolves around the XS' focusing challenges. The camera itself is great - image quality is good, the sensor works fine -- the uptick in image quality between the smaller...

Persistent error code problem

L. Kerslake, Amazon
29 September 2009
  • Summary: This is a nice camera when it works. Two issues to be aware of. We bought it on the basis that we already had a film EOS with Canon-compatible lenses (Sigma) and we had been assured that the lenses should be fully interchangeable. Well, they are not.

Not a good experience.

Dr. G. H. W. Milburn, Amazon
29 September 2009
  • Summary: This is a great budget digital camera-when I eventually got it to work properly. It twice needed to be sent back to the manufacturers well within the guarantee period. However it has a fine spec and takes excellent pictures.

sluggish outside perfect conditions

Annie, Amazon
29 September 2009
  • Summary: Canon EOS 1000D is my second DSLR after the Nikon 90D. I purchased it after months of searching and reading reviews. I mostly used it with the EF-S 18-55mm (non IS) lens. It's a good entry level DSLR however, as I am an aspiring photographer, I quickly started to notice 2 very big downsides which I...
