the cannon EOS is reliable but breaks easily

Excerpt: well i have used this camera many different times for many different ocassions such as football games, soccer games, homecoming, dance, water polo, ROTC, and other events around school and while it takes amazingly good pictures we tend to have to send the camera back to the shop alot to get fixed and we have had to buy about 4 different ones of these cameras for the lens that broke.
Summary: I have used 2 rolls of film and the quality of the prints is poor. The pictures are grainy and grayish. The color is poor. I am very disappointed in the product esp. since I bought it to take on a European vacation. I had to borrow another camera because I knew I could depend on the quality of my pictures.
Summary: I purchased the Canon XS DSLR camera with the intent of replacing a 5-year old Canon A630 point-and-shoot camera. I had tried (and returned) several newer point-and-shoot cameras, but was disappointed with back-to-back comparisons to the older camera. They did not compare well at all, and I assumed that a newer entry level DSLR should run circles around a 5-year old model. That was not the case.
Summary: I have a Canon XTi, and I love it. Its pop-up flash broke years ago, and because I use an external flash now, it kind of takes the convenience out of a digital SLR with a popup. So I figured I'd get a new body and use my Canon lens and all would be right with the world. But this camera sometimes worked (as in simply turned on), but sometimes didn't. Sometimes it'd take photos but sometimes it wouldn't.
Summary: I bought this camera for my husband for Christmas. From the day he tried to use it, it was temperamental, it would turn on then it would power down after about 2-3 minutes. We would check the battery and it was always dead but would then recharge after a very short time. We researched and found out that this was a common problem with this camera; something I had not seen in the research I did before buying it.
Summary: Have used the camera on 3 occasions since purchased, having moved on from my old 35mm and medium format cameras. What I have noticed is if you put the battery on charge for several hours, then load it into the camera then leave it "turned off" when you come to use it the following morning the battery is flat ! ! ! I must say the odd occasion when I have used it the result are very good, especially when used with the white light filter turned on.
