Summary: PROS: Small; user friendly; takes excellent outdoor pictures. CONS: Limited zoom; flash in low light conditions washes out colors. The Canon SD40 is small, sleek, and takes excellent pictures when it's sunny out. I'm especially pleased with the super-simple slider that lets me switch between picture-taking, video-capturing, and viewing modes. This camera is a winner!
Excerpt: Pictures are worth a thousand words. Whenever I am traveling, I often skip telling people about the places I’ve visited and instead let the picture talk. If one picture is worth a thousand words, a lot of pictures can spare me the job of talking.
Excerpt: Great little camera, has more functions than what i even need in a digital camera. For starters, the 7.1 megapixels should attrach you instantly, as everyone who is buying cameras these days are mega pixel crazy. for standard use, setting the camera on 2-3 mp and then snap away at your hearts desire, the 7mp is only used for a huge scene and you want to zoom in when offloading the pictures to a computer.
Excerpt: Bought for my daughter's 16th - worked for about 3 months, now switches off as soon as you press the shutter. No problem with battery - checked, changed, all other functions fine. Just won't take pictures - rather basic problem for a camera. Terrible product.
Excerpt: This is a truly brilliant product with a 7.1 mega pixel resolution which therefore makes for brilliant quality photographs. It also has an automatic viewfinder meaning that it focuses itself and then makes a noise once it is focused. It has three modes, a Play mode where you can watch any videos you have recorded etc, a Video mode so that you can shoot videos and a camera mode for when you want to take still photos.
Pros: easy to use, 7 . 1 mega pixels make for amazing quality pictures, available in other colours
