Summary: Ive had this camera for quite a few years now. Its is a very handy camera to have due to its size. It also shoots quickly (probably due to no optical zoom) and shoots decent pictures. This is a no nonsense camera. Straight point and shoot anyone can use it. I like how small it is cause you can truly take it anywhere. As they say the best camera is the one you have with you. Is very cheap on ebay if you want one. This or the sd20 which is the improved version.
Summary: Had to have it fixed under warranty because of a lens transport problem. I used it lightly. No problem with waterproofing. Nice color under water with under water setting. Pictures are nice when not blurred. More shack than I have with a Canon Powershot A series. Takes longer than a Canon Powershot to be ready for next picture.
Summary: We take cruises throughout the whole year and frequently snorkel as well. This camera works great for both underwater as well as above. We use to buy those throw away underwater cameras all the time...hated doing that. I personally ruined two of my previous point and shoot digital cameras from either dropping it while taking a picture or water damage cause by too much mist (water falls) or light rains. This camera is perfect for us as we frequent out doors quite a bit.
Summary: My husband and I just took this camera on our snorkeling vacation to Cozumel. We loved having it and have some great photos, when there was good light, of all the ocean creatures, including ourselves. The camera also took great photos out of the water. It's very easy to use and love the 12x zoom!
Excerpt: This camera is absolutely wonderful. First of all its a beautiful design, it looks very trendy and because it is so small its easy to bring with you no matter where you go. The pictures come out very clear and the fact that the camera rotates the picture automatically makes this camera very special. The other great thing about this Canon camera is that it has got a speaker build in so you can playback straight away instead of having to plug it in to your television!
Summary: I am only an amateur photographer, but this camera was recommended to me by a professional photog for our trip to Jamaica. I am SO glad I purchased it. It takes very impressive underwater pictures and just as fabulous above water pictures. There are a lot of settings and even manual operations (I stuck with the auto settings). Snorkeling was made even better since we were able to capture pictures at a depth of 33 feet. I highly recommend this camera.
Summary: I must admit that I am partial to Canon, but this camera is one of the best I have ever owned!!! It may not have the most megapixels, or be the best, most high end piece of electronics out there, but for the average Joe, this is a phenomenal investment!!! For most people's purposes, the pictures are always sharp and clear enough (note that as with any camera, movement can mess up or blur a shot), and with sufficient megapixels for editing and blowing up without...
