Stunning Pictures and Videos but Macros are useless

Summary: Pros: Great pictures, 4x zoom, 10 MP, 3 in LCD, Face detection, light weight Cos: Lens closing problem, zoom in video capturing, I would call this an average camera. I've been using it for about 2 years now. It takes great pictures in daylight even when you are using zoom. I was amazed at how good the zoomed pics came out to be. It is light weight and easy to use. It has face detection technology and a lot of preset settings.
Would get 5 stars if only the noise problem is not so obvious

Summary: My dissatisfaction with the Canon SD880IS all stem from really missing my old Fujifilm F30. That good old camera has the best lens/CCD of any point-n-shoot that I've ever seen. Even ISO1600 photos were usable. Everything was low noise. But (probably because it's Made in Ch---) the two F30's that I've owned all crashed way before reaching 2 full years of use. Yes, I had liked the camera so much that after the first one died I bought another one to replace it.
Buyers beware! Obvious defect...puff of smoke coming out of flash

Summary: I've been using this camera for 5 months now. I loved it because it takes very vibrant color photos and all the function buttons are user-friendly. However, recently there are signs of unusual puff of smoke coming out from the left corner of the camera when I take photos with flash. When there's no smoke, you can see the the flash sparks brighter than before. I did a search on Google and many share the same problem. So buyers beware!!
Summary: For the pixel peeper set and those serious about image quality: The image quality of SD880IS fell a little short of my expectations. My last camera was a Canon S70 (7MP) which is now quite old, but it still produces better per-pixel sharpness, except wide open in the corners, than the SD880IS.
Excerpt: The Canon IXUS 870 IS is a compact point and shoot camera with a range of special features for those wishing to try out some more creative effects. It has a solid, by current standards somewhat chunky build, and an extendable 4x optical zoom built in lens. We have had this camera for about 3 years now and it is still working really well and looks only a tiny bit worse for wear.
Pros: Has some neat features, relatively compact, has lasted well .
Cons: Photo quality isn't great, features are unnecessary, not as slim/cheap as other low budget cameras
Canon Ixus 870 IS!!!! The best camera for its price and size

Excerpt: To begin with, Canon Ixus 870 has an excellent picture quality. I was so amazed when I saw the image of the first picture taken out of it. I also figured out that it is truly an excellent point and shoot camera. I absolutely adore the size and the quality of the camera. Coming to its specs, the Canon Ixus 870 is a 10 megapixel camera measuring about 94x57x24mm and weighs 180 grams and is so compact.
Pros: Good picture quality, big LCD display, easily accessible .
Excerpt: Love this product and cannot go on about it enough - have used it almost everyday. The build quality is superb and it really feels that it has been put together well. Battery life is great and you will get the whole day out of it easily, I always buy a spare just in case. Memory size is ok, so you will need to buy another memory card to go with it but that is just normal with these cameras.
Excerpt: I brought this camera as a point and shoot as a lot of the time my digi SLR is just too bulky to carry around, and i often just dont bother. Having this camera to hand is great, i carry it nearly all the time, in a pocket, over the shoulder or in a rucksack, i cant believe i didnt try it sooner, the 10mega pixel is more than enough quality, pictures came out sharply and looking stunning, i have had them blown up to A3 and they are not at all pixelated, the wide angle...
Summary: I bought a Canon Ixus 870 due to the good experiences of older Canon cameras and I wanted a replacement for my Sony P-9 which I've used for 5 years or so, the wide angle lens was also an added bonus. The first one from Amazon had a damaged LCD screen plus I wasn't happy with the quality of the pictures taken. Amazon replaced it very quickly so full marks to Amazon and their carriers for that.
Excerpt: The canon camera is great, except that you need to use Canon''s crappy PC/Mac software to download images if you want to use the USB connection - does not appear as a mass storage device on your desktop! And you cannot download more than 1000 images. This alone is enough to skip this model and get something that does not require a memory card reader or With Canon You Just Can''t -crappy software.
Cons: PC/Mac software - USB connectivity: does not appear as mass storage device on your desktop
