Excerpt: I had the chance to trial the PowerShot A700 and the IXUS 750. The pictures of the Digital IXUS 750 are beautiful as is the camera itself. This Canon camera is a jewel. I also got it on special offer, 30% reduction in price and this makes it even better. Its a truly point and shoot luxurious camera that not need to fiddle around to get good pictures. Just press the button. Its also a very inspiring thing to have around and take a lot of pictures.
Canon SD550 Ixus 750 7MP 3x Optical Compact Digital Camera Review

Excerpt: The Canon IXUS 750 is a breath of fresh air if you are fed up of sacrificing good photos for a cheap digital camera. It is a seven megapixel model with a 3x optical zoom lens. This super stylish camera measures 89.5 x 57 x 2.4mm and weighs 170g making it slightly larger than other ultra compact, pocket sized digital cameras. On picking up the camera you get a good feeling about it.
Summary: A good solid camera with a metal body. Resolution is good and colour reproduction seems fairly accurate. Uses standard size SD cards which are relatively cheap now. Camera has the ability to record short video sequences which are always good to have a few of to help remember where you've been on holiday, and bring the memories back
Summary: I loved this camera for its ease of use and compactness. The video is really brilliant even in low light conditions. However, after 15 months the autofocus has gone kaput and the camera is unusable. Contacting Canon has not brought any response other than a request to fill out a customer satisfaction survey! Very disappointing.
Excerpt: I purchased a new IXUS-750 and little over a year later the Zoom Lens broke down. As the camera was out of warranty (12 months) Canon UK would not pay for replacing the lens but referred me to their dealers who offered to help for a hundred to two hundred pounds. One can buy a brand new camera for that sum. I have always had great respect for Canon cameras but I was badly let down this time.
Summary: I have no complaints about this camera at all. Had the camera for quite some time now and would not be with out it, it's really easy to use. The camera battery lasts a long while, the camera produces clean & crisp photographs, great colour. I have used this camera several times in Manhattan and had some impressive scenery shots, also does great famlily shots & really good macro shots indoor & outdoor, idea for desktop background!
Summary: I only use my camera to take snaps - mostly when I'm away on my hols and wouldn't say that I'm an expert or experienced photographer. I'd had an Ixus v3.0 for several years, which I loved using and was constantly amazed at what it could do so I really looked forward to taking even bigger and sharper pictures with the new camera. I've got to say that I have been slightly disappointed.
Excerpt: canon's IXUS range is as much about eye catching good looks as it is about great performance. Luckily, this latest model, the 7 megapixel IXUS 750, manages to score highly in both categories. With a brushed metallic sheen that feels pleasingly soft to the touch, this sturdily built pocket camera is available in two colours: satin beige and silver grey. despite the sleek styling and premium price tag of around £420, this is still very much a point and shoot camera.
Pros: High resolution; 3x optical zoom; fast, reliable operation
Summary: My first compact digital camera and what choice it was. It travels with me everywhere. Nice, stylish compact design, fits snugly in any pocket. Easy to use, lots of features to play around with and superb quality images. I would have preferred more manual controls, but that was soon forgotten. I have taken far more photos with this Canon IXUS than I have with my Nikon SLR. Good weight and balance, intuitive design, easy to use, good LCD screen.
