Canon PowerShot SD1000

  • Conclusion: The really tiny Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH features some of Canon's latest bells-and-whistles added into an already good camera. That means 7 megapixels, a sharp and coated 2.5 inch LCD and a speedy processor. The SD1000's performance is above average with features that Canon is now known for: unlimited continuous shooting mode, great movie mode (now made better) and a face detection system that works.
  • Pros: Ultra-compact retro design; includes an optical viewfinder, Face detection AF and AE that works, Large high-resolution LCD with good visibility, clarity and coating, Unlimited continuous shooting at full resolution, Very good performance, Shortcut/ISO shift button, Useful playback features: My Colors, redeye removal and sound recorder, Impressive movie mode; now with a time lapse feature, Good image quality with low noise till ISO 400
  • Cons: No manual controls, No optical image stabilization, Below average battery life, Edge sharpness issues at full-sized screen viewing/large prints, No live histogram, No movie focus or optical zoom, Plastic components: battery/card slot door and tripod mount (used to be metal)

Canon PowerShot SD1000 Review

Digitaltrends
8 April 2007
  • Conclusion: Anyone looking for a good point-and-forget digicam should put the Canon Powershot SD1000 Digital ELPH high on the list. It’s not the fastest camera in the world, but it works quickly enough, even with the flash blazing away. Photo quality is of the classic Canon style, which I like very much. I’m sure zillions of shutterbugs will like it too.
  • Pros: 7.1MP; 3x optical zoom; ultra compact
  • Cons: Few manual controls; high digital noise at ISO 400 and above; LCD could be more responsive

Canon IXUS 70

Cameras
8 August 2014
  • Conclusion: Although you pay a bit more for the Canon IXUS 70 then you do with many other pocket sized digital cameras you do get good value for money. This is a good all round camera that outperforms the majority of its rivals in most areas. It also has the added bonus of a viewfinder. Recommended.
  • Pros: Colours - viewfinder - macro shot - build quality - advanced movies - indoor (lowlight) photos
  • Cons: Shutter delay with flash turned on

Canon Digital IXUS 70

PhotographyBLOG
23 April 2007
  • Summary: The Canon Digital IXUS 70 is a stylishly retro, well-made, responsive point-and-shoot digital camera that successfully recalls the original IXUS design and which thankfully doesn't sacrifice substance for style. The IXUS 70 is a tiny and slim camera that both looks great and works well, with a number of innovative features on offer.

  • Pros: Dimensioni compatte; ISO elevata; Sensore
  • Cons: Poca personalizzazione
