  • Excerpt: I am learning to use this instrument for backing performances, understanding midi and backing tracks and interfacing with Garage Band for adding sounds to songs I am recording.<br />So far so good. Do wish there is more control of individual tracks from the keyboard itself to match up with 16 Garageband accommodates so they can be selected &quot;on the fly&quot; in performance.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Value For Money, Portable, Realistic Sound
  • Cons: Improve Instructions

Excelent starter synth

Dennis, Yamaha

  • Summary: I was looking for something to replace my old PSR 560 that went bad a couple of years ago without spending a lot of money and this PSR model suits it fine. The only issue I had was the usual USB lantency issues when using a USB MIDI hook up. In the software I use, Mixcraft Pro Studio 6, it has plenty of settings to make adjustments, but there is always that fraction of a second on HEARING the note you play even though the note RECORDS as it should (can mess up your...

Affordable, Versatile, Fun

  • Summary: I purchased this keyboard due to its bang-for-the-buck features. It offers a unique combined feature set not found in any other single Yamaha keyboard.(Arpeggiator, Dual Real-Time Control, Pattern Feature, Wide Stereo Sound, USB to Device). While missing many of the best higher-end Yamaha voices, it gets by with a limited number of acceptable &quot;sweet&quot; and &quot;cool&quot; voices.
  • Pros: Cool Wide-stereo Effect, Easy to Use, Feature-rich, Great-looking, Portable, Realistic Sound
  • Cons: Needs &quot;live&quot; Voices, Needs A Mod Wheel, Needs Transpose Button, Too Menu-driven

The low priced performance keyboard, good for the beginners.

  • Summary: A keyboard for amateur performers, at a very low price. Just start playing and let the imagination flow, leave the rest on the keyboard.
  • Pros: Has very realistic sampled voices(sweet&amp;cool), cool styles and a high level of dynamic filters. Cheap.
  • Cons: very heavy. Bad display
