MOX8

Music Tech Magazine
14 April 2013
  • Excerpt: When we reviewed Yamaha’s flagship Motif XF last year (MTM Issue 92), we were impressed by Yamaha’s continuing development of the integrated workstation, but were a bit taken aback at the final bill for a fully loaded version. So for those of you looking for the main functions of the Motif series but not in a position to make the kind of investment required, Yamaha has released a scaled-down version of the series in the shape of the MOX8 and MOX6.

"A great buy for a first time workstation user" - sw80

  • Excerpt: Sequencing on this workstation is also pretty simple though I would not choose to use its sequencing because I think that using it in Logic was so much better. For the price, to get a full 88 key workstation with a ton of arps is a steal and a must have. If I didn’t already have so many similar boards I would purchase this one to keep at home!

  • Excerpt: There are a lot of keyboards out there, and a lot of them are very good. But the Yamaha MOX8 makes everything so easy. You can create from scratch or build off of presets that it gives you. Knowing what I know now, I should have got this keyboard when it first came out. It is also priced well!

"cheap price for a full 88 key workstation" - AlanForPresident

Audiofanzine

  • Excerpt: For the price and the full 88 keys, you wont find a better deal at this price. If you can afford it you will need to purchase this. it’s a great deal for a huge full size workstation that can produce all types and genres of music. You will not be disappointed with this workstation. I just hope you have better ability to put up with the screen si...

"powerful board" - yoTrakkz

Audiofanzine
20 October 2011
  • Excerpt: Though you can probably find an MO8 used at a good price these days, I'd go for the MO8X as it's 15 pounds lighter and has a deeper and more up to date sound pallet. You will see Yamaha synths more often at big shows than any other company and it's because that sound pallet is solid in all categories and you get almost all the sounds of the Moti...

" Very good synth, perfect" - conchin

  • Excerpt: I have less than one but I already won by his abilities and I look forward to my next concert in his presence. In particular, I tried the kurzweil pc le3 or the korg triton from home but this one is still my favorite. The characteristic I like most is the ability to modulate the way you want the different sounds. <b...

"Très bon synthétiseur, parfait" - conchin

Audiofanzine
24 August 2011
