Excerpt: I tried this synth at winter namm show and was sold instantly. This synth is seriously awesome. I own a microbrute, a mopho and a bass station 2. By far my favorite of the three. I can get the aggressive bass tones I am looking for quickly with this synth. I love the fact that it has after touch. The arpegiator/ sequencer works with other synths and vst plugins. Syncs up with ableton wonderfully. My only problem with it is that my led display broke.
Excerpt: I've been using this keyboard to make electronic music both live and recorded. I can compare it to the Dave Smith Mopho keyboard (which I also have), and I would say that I actually think I prefer it (even though the Mopho is a lot more expensive). The sounds that are possible just seem more alive to me, and the control layout is very conducive to being able to quickly dial in a sound that you like.
Pros: Huge sound, Value For Moneu, Value for Money
Excerpt: The Bass Station II sounds excellent, just like a high quality analog monosynth should. Running it through the PA, a keyboard amp, or even through headphones, one can feel its raw sonic power. It's loud and clear (with no static noise like some vintage analog synths), the bass sounds are deep and smooth (it has a sub oscillator with three different waveforms), the tuning is rock solid thanks to the 2 DCOs, and the filter is fantastic, with an enormous range and depth!
Excerpt: Cf file test, all is said. UTILIZATION The control layout is damn good, everything is easy. Additional functions accessible via the keyboard takes a little more time, some have been in direct control but I do not miss me too much either.
