Field Test: Native Instruments Kore 2 Plug-In Host
1 June 2008
Excerpt: The first incarnation of Native Instruments Kore was an insightful step forward in hardware/software integration, but it suffered from some design problems. (See my review in the September 2006 issue.) Kore 2 is a major overhaul, in which those issues have been decisively addressed. If you use a lot of software synths and need to manage a complex sound library, Kore 2 may be your solution.
Excerpt: Although the world of software synthesis has brought an endless stream of sounds to play with, it has ultimately left our hands with nothing more to do than move a mouse pointer around a screen. It makes sense, therefore, that one of the biggest names in software synthesis – Native Instruments – decided to make the definitive physical control surface for its range of cutting-edge virtual instruments.
