Summary: It's simple, without any ado and meets my expectations perfectly. There are keyboards that has more functions, and I already had one of those before I bought this - the KeyRig was worth buying just because it's so simple. And no software! Logic Pro and Ableton Live instantly recognizes it, and I can start making music right away.
Summary: I had the same exact issue as another reviewer. Very bad product and customer service. My advice is to never buy an M-Audio product. They will rip you off and offer bad customer service that gives you the run around with no solution. Here is the other reviewer's post on this M-Audio product: Warning for Windows 7 users, especially 64-bit versions: Do not purchase!
Summary: So I'm only using this midi keyboard for Finale. Aside from that it's not worth the money for an actual "performance" keyboard, the reaction is somewhat slow. Again, I'm running on Vista, I'm sure that if you have a better computer with a faster processor it'll run smoother. Either way, despite all the conflicts previous vista users have had with this product, I found no problem.
I might upload a video of me taking a baseball bat to this POS

Summary: Wow, lead paint? PEOPLE READ PRODUCT REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY!!! Don't be like me... Besides not being able to eat while using this board and having "Wash Hands" taped on it the only problem I have with this board is the pitch wheel wigging out. It's very annoying to deal with so I have to disable it every time I turn it on. Also, why does M-Audio make it so hard to get M-Audio Key Rig software?
Summary: Warning for Windows 7 users, especially 64-bit versions: Do not purchase! M-Audio advertises that the product is Windows 7 compatible, both on website product description and a sticker on the box. I bought mine from Guitar Center for my son in college, and he could not install it at school. I came to his dorm and tried with no luck, so I took it home to get it going. The reality is that if you try to install from the included CD, it will not work at all.
Summary: I got this keyboard late last year and have been very impressed with it. I'm currently using it as a midi controller for garageband on my mac and it works great it responds well and is pressure sensitive so the harder you play a note the louder it is. overall this keyboard has served me well pared with the M-Audio SP-2 US65010 Sustain Pedal Piano Style Sustain Pedal for Keyboards makes it perfect.
Summary: The M-Audio KeyRig 49 is a great tool for the musician looking to add a midi controller through the usb port. I am using a 3 year old MacBook Pro and have done lots of recording of guitars and vocals in Logic. This year I decided this old dog should learn a few new tricks, so I picked up the KeyRig 49 and plugged it in. If you have GarageBand or any of the Logic products, this is a great learning tool.
Summary: This is a nice inexpensive controller until it just stops working. The symptoms are; it still lights up, the pitch bend, modulation and volume slid still sends midi signals, but the keyboards goes dead. There may be parts available to repair it from M-Audio, but the cost is 25-45% of the price. Sorry M-Audio, I cannot recommend this unit.
