Summary: I've had this piano for a couple of months now starting to learn to play the piano. It's pretty decent all in all, plays well and sounds good most of the time. The keys are quite light compared to most real pianos but they still mostly feel like it's real. Like in a real piano there are 4 degrees of hardness to the keys from heaviest at the bass to lightest at the high treble.
Summary: I just relocated to a rural area where the nearest town is an hour away. I was just made the church pianist and I needed a VERY real sounding portable piano fast and I didn't want a "toy" if you know what I mean. I sent for this piano in "faith" because its a Korg and I read the description and WOW, I'm so happy that I got this. The sound is great, the touch is great, the look is great and I'm just blown away at how quickly Sam Ash shipped this to me quick and in tact.
Summary: My daughter, an accomplished pianist, accompanist and piano teacher needed a keyboard to take to college. Her criteria were broad: 88 keys and a pedal. Mine were narrower. This keyboard needed to closely replicate the keyboard feel and sound of a real piano. This Korg does all those things, and more. Plenty of voices (should you need that sort of thing) and a MIDI port (though no MIDI to USB cable).
Summary: We purchased this piano as a Christmas gift for our daughter's family. It is a fabulous instrument with high-quality sound and key action similar to a "real" piano. We have high praise for the instrument but are still scarred by the delivery experience. The seller used Home Direct and their subagent, New England Express, to deliver this large item. The delivery was rescheduled several times (we missed work each time!
Summary: My son, 14 years old, purchased this piano after researching quite a number of different "portable" pianos. This one is a bit heavier and not as easy to transport. Although we are looking into purchasing a carrying case that has wheels. However, the sound and the stability of the piano is excellent!!!! He can even attach it to his computer and record his songs. WONDERFUL piano!!!!
Summary: I cannot distinguish a difference between the sound of this Korg and my Baldwin Hamilton studio piano. The only thing it lacks is a real piano's "oomph". The tone is beautifully rich. The keys respond better than the Baldwin, both in touch and sound. The Baldwin keys permit tones that are either loud or very loud. The Korg gives a vast range of softer tones depending on how much pressure I use on the keys. I love that! It never needs tuning.
Summary: The Korg SP 250 had all the features we wanted in a digital piano. The sound is very rich in the bass range and the voice feature is great (choir-who and choir-do).The stand is strong even though it looked flimsy in the photo. My 13 year old musician is able to figure it all out with the manual. We would recommend this piano for anyone, especially if you , like us, heat with a wood stove and can't keep a regular piano in good repair.
