Summary: Korg microKorg Analog Modeling Synthesizer with Vocoder is a classic compact instrument. Simple dial set up. Small, light and easy to carry along. More sounds then you will ever use are installed. You can create even more sounds if necessary. Great Vintage Look! A real, valuable Classic!
Summary: Loved the microKorg. There's a lot of modulation possibilities behind that economic and retro interface. It has the perfect size for small studios and gigs, but gives us all we need to explore a huge variation of timbres and effects. The vocoder presets are amazing. I just miss some free space to record my custom presets. Became a fan!
Summary: Length:: 8:39 Mins I have another video review for the Korg M50 61 Key Synthesizer Workstation which is similar to this video review so feel free to check it out if you get chance. I purchased the microkorg more for the vocoder than the soft-synth but I have to say that both elements are equally stunning.
Summary: I've been wanting to get this thing for awhile now, and now that I have it, and as an aspiring electronic musician it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. This is my first hardware synth, I've had it for a couple days now and I can't stop playing with it. Although I do plan on making songs with it as the lead once I get an audio interface, just tweaking the sounds and making beats is a blast.
Summary: I purchased the microKorg in conjuction with "Welsh's Synthesizer Cookbook" with the desire to have a good dual-oscillator synthesizer to apply the theory I would learn. I won't comment on Welsh's excellent book here, but what I can say about the microKorg is that it is very powerful and versatile, and well-constructed. The presets are not that great taken by themselves, but they are good templates for experimentation.
Summary: I got my Micro after the first year they came out. I played with it every time I walked into guitar center and knew I had to get one. It really looks and feels like a little toy. It reminds me of the old kiddy casio's they would sell at radioshack. It was because of this that I felt inclined to play with it just like it were a toy. Compared to my other Korg Boards having an instrument that feels like a toy is great.
Summary: We bought this great synth for our 13yo son and he LOVES IT. It is easy to get started with but has endless possiblities. It is portable and small, so he can travel with it. The sounds is very rich and the keyboard (while small) has a good feel to it. We had been considering a larger synch, but this one had all the features, better price, and more portability. At first we were worried that it did not have much of an LCD display or computer.
