Summary: So far every thing on this 61-key CTK-2100 has been excellent. The uniformaty in the key balance from upper to lower sets is excellent in feel. This is my second Casio. The engineering shows up in the first for the excellent blend of key push matching though out. Excellent exilaration in performance towards the learning experience and feel the Casio must be known for. The MT-55 I have was from the 80s in manufacture. I am still pleased with it.
Summary: I'm a piano teacher, specializing in teaching very young beginners. I sympathize with parents who ask me if they really have to invest in a traditional piano for a 5- or 6-year-old who might not really like the instrument after a few lessons. So I am willing to teach on an electronic keyboard, and for several years, I've recommended the CTK-700, which for around $100 at Target or Walmart offered full-size keys and a reasonable "touch".
Summary: The quality and finish are a disapointment. It has a toy like feel to the keys. After 10 weeks of light use the circut board failed. I sent it to Casio for repair 6 weeks ago. Trying to work with Casio customer service has been very frustrating. I regret this purchase.
Summary: My first time learning to play a keyboard and the built in screen got me playing simple songs strait away. very incouraging and makes you want to keep playing. It however does not teach you to read music, only shows you where to place your fingers when, but a small investment in a book or cd and you can.
Summary: The AC adapter was not inside the keyboard box. Instead, it was outside hidden amongst the packing paper. The entire package also did not come with the 4 screws needed to assemble the keyboard stand. Ignoring those, the keyboard is very nice -- BUT -- the black keys make noises when pressed, unless you press is ever so gently. This makes playback sound weird with the noises. The noises sound like a noise you get when you hit two wood pieces together, like "tock tock".
Summary: The keyboard itself is wonderful, but the advertised a/c adapter was not included in the box, and there are no additional shipments scheduled. I have no idea how to contact Amazon about this issue, and there don't seem to be any help topics about what to do when Amazon screws you out of part of the order! The ONLY reason I purchased this keyboard was because of the value and all the included items.
Summary: I bought this for my 14 year old daughter who already plays 2 other insruments and wanted to take up the keyboard. It offers a lot of versitilty and so far has given her a lot of enjoyment. Being as she is a novice with the keyboard I hope it will still take her a long way. t was a good choice and having the earphones with it lets her play when other s don't want to listen.
