Disappointed also comparision to Oxygen 25
9 September 2011
Summary: I was disappointed with this controller and glad the one I received had a huge crack casing on the back of it so I was able to get a refund quite easily. I purchased the Oxygen 25 instead for like thirty bucks cheaper and it's a much much better synth. The only good thing about this umx255 was the mod wheel. It feels better quality and smoother than the oxygen 25. still feels a tad cheap but only a tad where as the oxygen 25 mod wheel definitely feels cheap.
Summary: I've been using my new UMX250 for abotut a week and I have to say why did I not get this years eariler? The candy apple color is fun, it's thick (but not bulky) and I love the feel of the keys; springy with lots of distance! The keys remind me of the Ensoniq EPS keyboard layout, which really lets you pound on them. I had a M-Audio O2 and the keys didn't have much distance and I was constantly fat-fingering keys( the mod and pitch "wheels" were lame also).
Summary: Syncs up with FL Studio 9 very well! Just right-click, link to automation controller, then turn a knob or press a button. It automatically maps the proper MIDI input without any complicated MIDI charts! Keys feel fine when pressed, but it takes a sharp thump to get a key to register a hit at full volume. Satisfied for only $100!
Excerpt: The unit is great, I can set it up in front of my computer and go, and the fact that both my mac and it are lightweight and can easily fit and be transported in my backpack is awesome. As a novice midi user, one of my only complaints is that the instruction manual seems to be a bit lacking, insofar as there is little troubleshooting offered, other than that, not much about which to complain
Pros: Easy to Use, Portable, Responsive / Good Action, Touch Sensitive Keys
Summary: I got this for Christmas this year and it does everything I could ask for and more! What you get in the box is: - A stunningly red Midi Keyboard (Duh) - Multi-lingual manuals (standard for Behringer) - Behringer Sticker (Woot!) - USB Audio interface UCA222 The pots have a nice rubber coat, the color red is just unbelievable, and the keys have nice resistance though you really have to slam on the keys to get it really loud I'm pretty sure that's adjustable but I have yet...
Summary: I gave this keyboard 5 stars because it delivers in all the areas I wanted it to. Its feels solidly built. The knobs and faders feel very good and this is an area where other keyboards I've tried that cost the same or more fail. It plays good, the keys feel just right, another hard thing to find. The Audio interface it ships with does a good job, though I will likely upgrade to a different in the future to get 96Khz capability.
