  • Excerpt: Solid build quality and I love the feel of the keys. The drum pads are a little rough though, but I knew that before I purchased reading multiple review and testing the product in store before buying it here at B&H.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Responsive / Good Action

It doesn't matter what handicap you have

Fat Tony Synths, B&H Photo
20 September 2012
  • Excerpt: First and lasting impressions: Solid, weighty controller definitely confirms it is a quality unit. Sturdy knobs and sliders, the keys have a delightful solid weight to them. Plug and play in most cases. I use it to produce music in FL Studio. Does not come with any FL studio presets, but after a short learning curve (first controller ever bought) getting my own preset mapped out did not take more than a few minutes.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Responsive / Good Action, Solid, Touch Sensitive Keys

Solid controller for a decent price

Joe, B&H Photo
8 September 2012
  • Excerpt: I use the MPK49 with Logic Pro.Overall, it feels solid and well-made. The semi-weighted keys definitely don't feel like piano keys, but that's fine for me. The pads that everyone seems to hate work fine for me. I'll probably end up getting a set of the thick pads at some point, but I'm happy with how they feel out of the box. Knobs and faders all feel smooth and solid, and buttons respond with an audible click.

Akai MPK49 Rocks

goldielockz, amazon.com
29 January 2012
  • Summary: The Akai MPK49 is a controller, so it doesnt come with presets which is fine if you have FL studios or some other software installed onto your computer! It links with your software and completely cotomizable, so if you want your an Abino synth or something in your track, its easy to set and teak the synth sounds through this controller and not on your comp! Super cool product, I'd recommend it!
