  • Excerpt: I bought this because it is so small and portable, easily fits in my MacPro computer case. Akai is a reliable brand name and at the price I could not pass this up. Looking for a very small practice keyboard I had considered buying a used keyboard and cutting it in two! Not a practical idea without a lot of rewiring etc! This looked just right and I am very pleased. Switching octaves is very easy and instant, much better than using the iPad keys in Garage Band.
  • Pros: Pros, Better Than Using Ipad, Easy To Use, Fits In Computer Bag, Functional, Good Quality
  • Cons: Cons, Key Touch A Bit Springy

  • Conclusion: The inexpensive and portable Akai LPK25 compact MIDI keyboard controller is a perfect companion for an iPad- or laptop-based studio as long as you don't need a mod wheel.
  • Pros: Very compact. Inexpensive, but feels well made. Quiet, springy key travel. Accurate velocity sensitivity.Useful Sustain and Arpeggiator buttons.
  • Cons: No mod wheel, which can be a problem with many virtual instruments.
