Summary: The first frame arrived with the glass broken that covers the screen. Yes they use real glass, not plastic. The second frame had a bright red pixel stuck on, in the center. Also the 2nd frame would keep shutting off. Sometimes it ran for an hour other times a few minutes. Had to unplug it before I could turn it back on. The picture was pretty good when it stayed on (except for the stuck pixel). The viewing angle was also good, but not great.
Summary: When I received the digital frame, since it was to be given as a birthday gift, I thought it would be nice to put some pictures in memory. And in order not to use too much memory, I elected to resize the 4000 x 3000 pixel images I had to the 1024 x 768 pixel frame resolution. What a deception: images would display as if they came from enlarged thumbnails.
Summary: Très bon cadre photo.
Summary: I have owned several digital frames since they became cheap. Viewsonic's 15" digital frame is a cut above the no-name brand frames in terms of both picture quality and frame quality. The frame has a nicer fake cherry wood veneer, with a cream colored matte, much less harsh than the standard black with white matte of most other frames. Be careful to not scratch the frame - the veneer will come off, especially on the corners revealing the light particle board underneath.
