I bought a DPP-F800 as a gift to my dad. At the first glance he loves it because DPP-F800 can conveniently show pictures and print them out. However, my dad also has a few pictures which he received via emails and he wants to copy them to DPP-F800. Since the manual says we can connect DPP-F800 to a PC, we followed the instructions to do that. After the driver is installed, DPP-F800 was seen as a removable hard disk (F:) on the PC. However, it seems the driver is unstable and the removable HD easily disappears, so Windows Explorer gets hanged when it failed to access F: disk. Power off/on the printer does not solve the problem. Restarting WinXP does not solve the problem, either.
Currently, the Sony website only provides update for a photograph management application PMB (Picture Motion Browser) from ver 5.2.00 to ver 5.8.02, but no update about the driver which connects Windows XP to DPP-F800.
Conclusion: You may wish to use DPP-F800 as a simple digital photo frame. Don't connect it to your PC until the new version of the driver solves the stability issue.

The digital photo frame and printing function are fine, but it frequently loses connections with my Windows XP SP3, and then my PC cannot detect Sony DPP-F800 or copy image files to it. Does anybody has similar experience and can suggest solutions?
