Summary: I purchased this for my mom few years back and it is a decent and easy to use frame. Very nice picture quality and easy to connect to the laptop and switch the pics. Very convenient and portable so as to keep either at the desk or as a showpiece at home.
Summary: I don't post reviews if I am satisfied with a product (call me lazy) but, I needed to post this as a warning to consumers. I've had this digital frame for over a year and thought it was pretty nice since it played back both my still shots and video. However, in October 2012 I upgraded to a very simple HD Camera (i.e., Canon Power Shot Elph 110HS).
Summary: This is my first digital picture frame. I bought the 32 gb card to go with it, good decision. I loaded all my photos, no problem, works like a dream. Only thing is that some of my photos are not the right format and show up as a question mark, but I cannot figure out which ones specifically are doing this, which is impossible.
Summary: I have wanted a digital photo frame for a very long time, but have not seen the one I wanted until this one. I researched very hard to make sure that I knew all about it and this Sony DPF-XR100 seemed to have the features I wanted. I had read that some edited photos won't show up on some frames, so that concerned me.
Summary: First, I ordered this since it's the only photo frame I could find that would mix in video with pictures. It does that just great. I have found the square-pixel size to actually be 1024 x 576 (16:1). For video editing, I've created a custom screen size of 1024 x 576 (square)in my editor and import my videos into that using a black border around the SD videos...that way videos are not resized by the photo frame with loss of clarity. Now, here's what to be aware of.
Summary: The frame is easy enough to get up and running. I did not need any instructions as it was intuitive to me. Hopping in to the customization menus was quick and easy. I believe another reviewer mentioned it, but I will repeat: You can easily turn off the Sony logo! Another feature that I like is the Advanced power on/off schedule. By each day of the week and by each hour, you can decide if the frame will be on or off.
