I love it

Anonymous, Newegg
26 November 2008
  • Summary: I haven't used other units, but can recomend this one based on what I see. Picture quality is a must, this makes photo's look great. I'm ordering a second unit for my mother in law.
  • Pros: Photo's look great, easy to setup, attractive design. Decent remote, pretty easy to operate. Thumbnail navigation seem's OK as well. I bought an adata 4 GB compact flash to go with it, will buy another. It's for my elderly parents, Compact Flash seemed to be the easiest for them because of the si...
  • Cons: So far, only the absence of a random play seems to be missing. I have not yet put video or music on it, so I can't comment on those features. Compact flash sticks out past the edsge of the frame, could be a little more attractive if it were in the rear. But these are quibbles, the unit looks grea...

Good Price nice looking

  • Summary: Remote control is a nice feature as well as in sound ability. I love shoping at NEWEGG!! Rock on NewEgg Rock
  • Pros: Good Price. Atractive product. Reads newer HDSD cards. Has micro USB jack. I like Rosewill Products.
  • Cons: Would give 5 eggs but for dead pixels. First unit had a dead pixel out of the box. NewEgg RMAed no problem. Cost me abt 10 bucks to return ship. Got new frame today. It also has a dead pixel. Argh!!! No time to return again as it is a gift. I purchased before the discount price. :-( Oh well that'...

OK frame for the price

Dorothy L., Newegg
30 October 2008
  • Summary: First time newegg didn't get my rebate submission. I emailed them and re-mailed all my copies (lucky I made copies), and the rebate was re-processed. Got my check!
  • Pros: 4:3 ratio, relatively high resolution, slideshow with background music (mp3), relatively cheap ($60 after rebate and free 2GB flash drive)
  • Cons: Wooden color frame, one dead pixel. Not very sharp. Doesn't look like 8".

Seriously Flawed Product

Binayak R., Newegg
28 August 2008
  • Summary: Good specs - bad pics and poorly designed circuits. My second poor experience with Rosewill (My Rosewill RV500 power supply has bloated capacitors inside after less than 3 years of light use - two of them look like they are going to explode).
  • Pros: High resolution screen - Only pro I can find with this product. I also own a SmartParts - which is really a five star product for displaying pics. Plays back Xvid's I tried.
  • Cons: 1)This is a BIG con - There is a 3.3 volt regulator on the circuit board. It runs hot hot hot. I mean too hot to touch. I really cannot see this product last a long time with a component thats running so abnormally hot. I plan to mod my frame to cool this voltage regulator a bit. Are they are dro...

4:3 Aspect Ratio is the key

MATTHEW C., Newegg
22 August 2008
  • Summary: Besides having the 4:3 aspect ratio, this frame also has some nice other features such as: various slide transitions, ability to play music, and the ability to play videos.
  • Pros: I bought this photo frame for my wife to replace one that I bought for her 1.5 years ago that bit the dust. Back then, it was easy to find one with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Now, it's nearly impossible. The 4:3 aspect ratio is the key, because that's the native format that most digital cameras take the...
  • Cons: Can't complain for the price. It works as expected.

  • Summary: I did not expect much for the price, which is about what I got. Rebate came pretty quick.
  • Pros: Value for money, overall appearance.
  • Cons: The card slots seem to be quite sensitive and require the card to be inserted "just right" After extended operation the unit gets quite hot. Does not do random order.
