Digital Photo Frames

Brian England, Amazon
27 February 2009
  • Summary: This is my first digital photo frame. I wanted a frame with an automatic on/off facility and this fits the bill nicely, the resolution is not great but good enough if you don't look to close, the control buttons are a bit hit and miss and I have had the device go into a split screen mode on one occassion. This was easily reset by switching the frame on and off but one shouldn't have do do these things even with a product at the lower end of the price range.

Not the worse case, but resolution is rather low...

Vasilich, Amazon
13 January 2009
  • Summary: Not bad product for this price, with good looking frame, however, rather low resolution makes the pictures looking markedly grainy even from the outstretched arm distance. Thus, only relatively large faces/objects or whatever is worth putting in the show. Besides, at least in my version, there is a bit slow reaction to the buton pressing. So, in my opinion it is better to buy something more expensive, but with better (than 480x234) resolution.

Overpriced by comparison...

M. Patterson, Amazon
26 December 2008
  • Summary: I got one of these as an xmas present. Picture quality is a bit disappointing and pixelated and the transition from picture to picture is a bit naff. At 7" it is the minimum size it could be. Build quality seems good and it looks quite attractive. Probably could buy a 9" with better picture quality for the same money.

Good in parts

dobieg, Ciao
7 December 2008
  • Excerpt: "On paper, there's a lot to like about digital photo frames; a way of showing digital pictures without having to resort to 'hard copy' and using considerably less power than a laptop PC. I have one or two reservations about this unit, although there's a few features that many people will consider quite useful. The concept is perfectly sound; a device which is far less complicated to use than a 'proper' computer, a means of displaying a slideshow, ...
  • Pros: Simple to use
  • Cons: Less than ideal picture quality

Not bad, but several issues

Mr. D. Wainwright "coalvilledave", Amazon
4 December 2008
  • Summary: This product works ok, but potential buyers should be aware of these issues: 1. The auto-orientation feature does not seem to work at all, despite me checking that it is enabled and resaving the settings several times. All of my portrait photos were displayed on their side. Maybe I've not set it up correctly. 2. There should be more photo alignment choices.
