Summary: I have now witnessed our third Aluratek digital frame crap out with the exact same issue. Without warning, all the images become covered in a red hue and some pixalated. Each time, I have written the company and had to push hard to get it replaced.
Will not start a video automatically, crapped out in 6 months
21 May 2012
Summary: We purchased this unit because it has a timer to start and stop automatically, and it plays video clips. What wasn't mentioned is the fact that it will start up and show still pictures automatically, but not videos--you have to manually start the video with the remote.
Summary: I put in a memory card & turned it on - VERY NICE quality image. I went to put it on "Random" - there is NO random function as I was led to believe. The "random" that they advertise is the "swipes", not to view the photos in random order.
Summary: Read the reviews on this frame and thought I would try it as the price was reduced approx 35%. I was positively surprised. The picture frame is a clean look and there is no company name plastered all over it. The picture has depth of color and excellent resolution.
Summary: Stopped working even before warranty period expired. Pictures turned green. Life was busy and by the time I got around to following up on it the warrnaty had expired - which I was told by Best Buy was a 1 year mfr warranty, so that's why I didn't rush to get it repaired/replaced right away.
