Deeper than you think

David Davis, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: Very good bag. Holds my mac book pro, D610 with grip and 24-70 attached. It would hold a 70-200, but I dont have that one yet. I also have 3 flashes, 70-300 (not attached to camera), 105mm and still have room for more lenses, so I threw in my charger, white plastic thingy for top of flash and hard drive. I think they could have done a better job at getting pockets for cables, straps, pens, and other misc items on the bag. But all in all I am happy.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Not Enough Extra Pockets, Very Deep, Waste strap not removable

awesome bag

  • Excerpt: I use this bag to hold alot of gear and it is perfect for doing so. It is a tight fit with everything I have but holds its great. My only draw back (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is the tripod carrier. It is for itty bitty tripods. It does not strap my tripod completely, and forget putting the head on my tripod to lug around. Overly bulky looking. I have a Manfrotto 055PROB with a 410 junior geared head for reference. Other than that the bag is awesome.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Cumbersome

Best all-gear travel backpack

Viking, B&H Photo
3 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I wanted a bag to accommodate all my camera gear and laptop, I can put inside 5D3 with grip and 70-200mm f2.8L attached, Canon 24-70mm f2.8L, Canon 100mm f2.8L IS, Canon 16-35mm f4L IS, Canon 35mm f2 IS, Canon EF 2X III, filter case, 580 EX II and cords, batteries+charger, plenty of memory cards, tripod/monopod and laptop. I know that there are many photographers that prefer to travel light or have much more gear but, for me it really serves the purpose.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

  • Excerpt: The construction seems excellent. Haven't had a chance to field test this yet. Seems to protect everything very well. Already dropped it, with gear inside, and no damage to anything.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Roomy, Strong Construction

Fits my gear to a tee

  • Excerpt: Although it is quite large, it still will do the things I need. Carry gear to a photo session with lots of padding to keep things safe - no matter how rugged the trek is to the location.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

Poor Quality

Birdbrain, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: You can't buy a backpack without trying it out, and the 7X fitted me perfectly - bigger bags were too heavy and smaller ones did not have the space. I was very happy with the bag until a zipper broke - disappointing after just a few months of light use, but these things happen. Then another zipper broke in exactly the same way - you pull on the pull-tag, and it breaks off in your hand, so you have to push the slider body with your finger to operate the zip.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment
  • Cons: Zipper Breaks Easily

My first photography backpack

Brucewj, B&H Photo
10 October 2013
  • Excerpt: The quality of the backpack is excellent but I would expect nothing less from Tamrac. I also purchased and attached a pair of medium size M.A.S. attachments, the large flash pouch and the large rain cover. I have a DSLR, 24-70mm f2.8 lens, 70-200mm f2.8 lens, 1.7x teleconverter, flash, remote control, batteries, several 77mm filters, tripod and other small items. With everything it ends up between 40 and 50 pounds.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Hard To Access Equipment

  • Excerpt: Efficient space for traveling. Lots of space to fit multiple lenses, cameras and loads of gear. Also customizable and well padded. Only real downside is that there is no quick access for a camera.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Cumbersome, Hard To Access Equipment
