Vertex 200 AW Backpack- A real workhorse

HuntingKy, B&H Photo
20 March 2014
  • Excerpt: This case is very well built and thought out accessory. The inside is very configurable and has plenty of room in the laptop sleeve. The filter and memory slots are plentiful. The zippers are well sealed against splashes. The only downside is that it is BIG. It is great for going out on a shoot with everything you might need but is definitely bulky and over kill for casual work.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Cumbersome, Heavy

Excellent and Versatile

  • Excerpt: I bought this bag to replace a Lowepro bag that I had outgrown. With the purchase of a new "Supertelephoto lens" (15 - 500mm), I needed a larger bag. This bag has definitely met my needs. I can carry my camera (Canon 70D), the kit lens, a 300mm zoom, the new 150 - 500mm zoom, my laptop, and all of my ancillary gear without a problem. Although the bag also allows the transport of a tripod, I have not yet tried that.

Very Thoughtful Design, Lots of Details

  • Excerpt: Lots of small pockets, different shapes and sizes, clearly designed by photographers. Easy access to pouches for memory cars, filters, batteries, etc. Main compartment very well protected, strong padding, adjustable to fit pretty much anything you have, and also designed like a real backpack, with all of the adjustments necessary to make a long trek comfortable. Outstanding piece of equipment if you are going to do any hiking.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Straps A Little Bulky

Better Than I Had Hoped

  • Excerpt: I really did my research on backpacks. I reviewed most of the big companies (Tamrac etc.) I bought a couple and either kept or returned them and none were as good as the Vertex 200. I really struggled with the choice between the 200 and the 300. I wanted a lot of space but I didn't want to look like I was going for a space walk. The Vertex 200 has fit my needs nicely.

Perfect backpack

Photographer, B&H Photo
11 November 2013
  • Excerpt: Very well made, ample space for camera body or two and multiple lenses. Not too big or too small for average size adult male. Tripod holder works very well even with a full size 7 lb tripod... Kind of a pain to get into the bag if you have the tripod on the rear holder, but there are holders on each side as well.

I WOULD BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN

  • Excerpt: BOUGHT THIS BAG TO STORE MY GEAR AS I WAS RUNNING OUT OF ROOM WITH MY PREVIOUS BAG WHICH APPARENTLY WAS MADE TO HOLD A LIGHTER DSLR AND LENSES AND WAS CAVEING IN UNDER MY D7000 AND TAMMY SP 70-300 PLUS ADDITIONAL LENSES. AT 62 I DO NOT DO EXTENSIVE HIKING BUT I DO LIKE THE LARGE STORAGE CAPACITY AND BUILD QUALITY OF THIS BAG. AS ALWAYS THE SERVICE AT B&H WAS FAST AND RELIABLE, DELIVERY WAS AS SCHEDULED. GREAT BAG GREAT COMPANY. YOU JUST CANNOT GO WRONG AT B&H.

Love it!

  • Excerpt: I use this to ensure I have have the kit I need but that it is safe and secure when I travel. It fits this need nicely. I was trying to balance three features and price. laptop compartment, tripod storage, and side entry. In the end I sacrificed the side entry but don't regret it. The tripod can be stored on either side or the back. I've moved it to the side because it was sticking way out in the back. I didn't think much about the rain cover until I needed it.
  • Pros: Comfortable
  • Cons: Heavy

A perfect backpack, if you need it.

30 January 2013
  • Excerpt: You don't need such a huge thing on your back if you only have one camera and two lenses to carry, but it's a great option if you want some proper protection and easy transportation for a lot of gears.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Roomy, Strong Construction
