Versatile, Durable, Long Lasting Bag

Gene Rodrigues, B&H Photo
  • Excerpt: My son purchased this bag for me in 2010 from B&H as a replacement for an older version of the same bag also purchased from B&H. This is a very versatile bag in the sense that the internal dividers can be adapted to a wide number of shooting applications. In the field, I generally carry a 5D Mark II or III full frame with kit lens and a 7D Mark I with either a EF 100-400mm or Tamron 150-600.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction

A bag for everything

  • Excerpt: The best description is in the title, this is not a camera bag but a backpack. It is large enough to carry nine lenses (one mounted on camera) and any other equipment you may need yet still will fit in a overhead bin (minus tripod). Excellent construction with plenty of additional pockets to carry, food, clothing anything for a trip and you will look like a hiker wearing this.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Large

Great Choice

  • Excerpt: I considered the 600 AW, for a little more in price, but felt it might be too big for my use. I'm glad I went with the 400, it still is a big bag - but better fit for me. The build quality and customizing options from interior dividers to setting up the backpack straps are great. I've been using LowePro products since the early 70's and they really are built to last and preform as designed.

Excellent Photo backpack

3 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I go on frequent day hikes into the mountains and wanted a pack that is comfortable for very strenous hiking and would carry all my gear, plus some food and hiking equipment. I typically also bring a coat as well in case it turns cold. This pack carry's everything very well. I even have a large 100-600mm lens. The inside pockets are easy to adjust for various sizes of lenses and this pack has great outside pockets to quickly access things you might want to grab quickly.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction

Super Backpack - 5 Stars

JC, B&H Photo
17 August 2014
  • Excerpt: I had a CompuRoverAW that was my daily companion for five years and bought the Pro Trekker 400 AW to replace it. It is a phenomenal backpack -thank God I did not listen to the critics who said it is too large, the zippers are too hard to use and it cannot accommodate a normal size laptop. It is a large backpack - but has easily fits in the overhead on all 4 flights I have taken since I got it. It is very well padded - which given my busy travel schedule is a necessity.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Roomy, Strong Construction

Overkill....and worth it.

  • Excerpt: Fantastic. Over engineered. Built like a tank and they thought of everything. Heavy in hand but not on the back. Wish it had more outside pockets instead of 3 tripod holders. Otherwise, best bag ever for storing almost everything.

Big and sturdy bag

Swindy, B&H Photo
28 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I have had this bag several years, but I'm just now writing a review. It has held up very well through moderate to heavy use. It easily holds 2 DSLR's, my 100-400 Canon zoom and several other lenses and accessories. I rarely use the tripod holder and never found it very comfortable to use as the tripod sits very high and catches on things as I hike, but I think that is the case in most all bags.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

A return to a classic bag, better colors

  • Excerpt: I use this bag for my Nikon D800e body, combined with several prime and zoom lenses. The thins that are great about this bag is that is extremely durable. It also is very easy to customize the fit, ensuring better posture as you are hiking out to remote shoots. The things that aren't so great about the bag is that the hydration bladder is not included in the bag kit, nor are specifications given regarding 3-party options.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Lack Of Room For Filters, Small Inner Pockets, Too Many Tripod Mounts
