Almost overbuilt

Ike, Adorama
17 June 2014
  • Excerpt: BLUF (bottom line up front): Buy this if you need a large, capable, rugged backpack for quite a large selection of gear.<br />This is a very rugged and well built backpack with a myriad of options for connecting things to it and securing them within. Some will likely be annoyed by the extensive use of buckles and clasps, but this one is ready for lots &amp; lots of assignments.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Cumbersome

Perfect Backpack

11 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I love that there is removable parts to this backpack so it's not as heavy or cumbersome. Love the removable top that makes into a fanny pack and that it holds water bottles on the outside. Also, the tripod holders are ample and very convenient. Great backpack that feels good on the back, well balanced and designed pack. Perfect for a lot of lenses, bodies and accessories. This is my second and perhaps last backpack!
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Roomy

Solid and spacious

Photos for fun, Adorama
10 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I needed a backpack to store all my lenses and camera when traveling. This one is solid and sturdy with enough flexibility to fit my gear. The only draw back is with all the weight, it rides a little too high on my back. I wish it would press lower and was able to distribute the weight better. Even so, I still recommend it.

Great, But Heavy

  • Excerpt: It's definitely a great bag. Holds everything that I need it to, and is quite durable. The downside to it is that it's extremely heavy. Don't plan on carrying it for long...

Great pack!!

Imac, B&H Photo
3 February 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought this pack for a good general purpose bag to store and carry all my gear and use for day hiking. It's extremely well made and high quality material. I looked at the 400aw as well but thought it might be a little too big and bulky for everyday use. Couldn't be happier with the the pack. Tons of storage and room for gear/accessories. Easily adjustable. Multiple slots for tripod. Rain cover works perfectly. Overall great buy!

Serious Backpack

Bike Boy, B&H Photo
19 January 2014
  • Excerpt: This is a well built backpack with plenty of storage. The straps, back, and waistbelt are made for comfortable hiking with a heavy camera gear. It is customizable for a variety of cameras and lenses. The padding is very good. The sides are padded and stiff. My personal preference would have been for the sides to be softer so the pack section could be compressed for easier transport and as a carry-on for plane travel.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Cumbersome

Ridiculously huge!

Big Eugene, Adorama
31 December 2013
  • Excerpt: This thing is just way too big. I expected it to be a large bag based on what it will carry, but in my opinion this is ridiculous. Impossible to wear indoors, it's so deep you're constantly bumping into things. I returned this bag and bought the much smaller Flipside 400aw which carries the same amount of gear (except the laptop) in half the space.
  • Pros: Roomy
  • Cons: Cumbersome, Hard To Access Equipment, Heavy

Best Traveling photo bag I found yet

Dave From MN, B&H Photo
23 November 2013
  • Excerpt: If traveling and need a bag that maximizes storage and still fits under the airplane seat this is the one. I would recommend removing the hip belt and stowing it with your checkin bag. The Tripod carrying options are nice for a traveling weight/size tripod. The zippers get easier to use with time. Spent 2 weeks in HI & had no complaints. Doesn't carry everything but carried what I needed and then some.
