Excellent bag with a strange design flaw

  • Excerpt: The product is the usual Lowepro standard, offering a good level of protection to valuable gear, and customisable with the removable internal velcro'd tabs. The overlap lid provides extra space for gear. Only one quibble: There is a zippered pocket at the back, with a second band of fabric covering the same area as the pocket.
  • Pros: Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight, Strong Construction, Well Padded
  • Cons: Slightly Uncomfortable Fi

Room for all the basics.

  • Excerpt: The main compartment can fit a DSLR with a fairly good size lens attached plus a large telephoto zoom, one full sized flash and a few small things. It is tall enough for a large f/2.8 zoom lens placed vertically. The accessory pockets underneath the entire top and in the front flap and in the bag's front are very smart and useful. The better bag for me professionally is the Nova 190 which is the same internal hight but a couple inches longer horizontally.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Good Accessory Pockets, Lightweight, Strong Construction, Well Padded

just about perfect

  • Excerpt: I mainly use backpacks. I have the Lowepro Pro Runner, Flipside 300 and 400 but I wanted a bag that would make it easy to carry just a few pieces of gear for shoots where I know I won't use long lenses. I hesitated between this one and a few smaller shoulder bags from Lowepro. I wanted to carry at least a Nikon body with 17-55mm lens attached, an extra short prime and a dedicated flash.
  • Pros: All Weather Cover, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Strong Construction, Well Padded
  • Cons: Little On The Heavy Side

Perfect bag for Micro 4/3 Users

  • Excerpt: I liike Lowepro's Nova series because they have lots of pockets and do a good job protecting gear. My only complaint is that many of them don't have enough padded dividers for those of us who use smaller cameras with many lenses. The 180 AW is a perfect balance between reasonably small size and lots of features.

Great Bag

  • Excerpt: This is the third one of this bag in our family. The size is comfortable and holds what is needed: extra lens(es), spare battery and charger, filters, small notebook, cleaning supplies. The interior compartment dividers velcro into place and can be rearranged to fit other lenses. The rain hood is a plus.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Strong Construction, Well Padded

does your bag improve your life?

  • Excerpt: I own two Nova 4 AWs, the newest for my Nikon D300, the oldest a utility bag and now a Nova 180 AW for my Nikon D-7000...a smaller bag for a smaller camera. Also have an assortment of Lowepro pouches and small cases for phones, point and shoots, field recorders, light meters and other little stuff. The brand meets all my requirements, price, quality, utility and durability. Never had to use the AW feature but once, but it worked and its great to know its there.

Nice bag

  • Excerpt: Perfect bag for a small D slr or an ILC. Work great with my OMD E - M1 plus a 12-50 mm, a 40-150 mm a small flash, hoods and has room left over for my 70-300 if I want or two smaller Lenses. The front storage is a bit tight but will hold a card wallet and extra batteries. The bag is light but we'll made as per lowepros's usual quality.

Nice outdoor and travel bag

Richard, B&H Photo
29 January 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought the Nova 180 AW as a medium outdoor and travel bag for my Olympus EM-5 outfit. It holds the EM-5 with 12-50 mm kit lens and battery grip attached, a flash and three other lenses including a 300 mm zoom. More lenses could be carried if you are willing to stack them. There is still room for extra batteries, cards and filters. Everything fits without overcrowding so I can work directly out of the bag while it is on my shoulder.
