Summary: The Flipside is far superior to the Lowepro Slingshot series, Tamrac Velocity series, and lumbar packs like the Moutainsmith Photo Tour. The most significant difference is the level of support provided. Ergonomically, the Flipside maintains symmetry throughout your body. These sling bags, which are growing in popularity and receiving a huge advertising push, will hurt your body. Take the slingshot on a photo walk or a hike and your body will pay to the toll.
Summary: Holds my Canon XSI very securely with plenty of room for my lenses and accesories. I bought this bag for the opening in the back since most of my shooting is in crowded areas. On longer walks the bottom of the bag digs into the lower part of my back which becomes rather uncofortable. I have a heavy tripod which could account for some of the problem.
Pros: Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction
Summary: I don't have a large setup - a prosumer camera with external flash, and the usual accessories. I find that there is enough room, but I'm not sure someone with a full SLR setup and a collection of lenses would be able to take everything with them. Having said that, the fact that it opens from the part against your back is an excellent security feature that cannot be ignored. If you're going to areas with crowds, this bag should not be overlooked.
Summary: I bought this just prior to my 6-week photo tour of Vietnam and China last summer and it proved to be a very wise investment. It held my DSLR with 70-200mm f2.8 attached along with three other lenses (24-70, 16-35 & 24mm tilt-shift), tele-extenders, filters, cables and extra CF cards, etc. The removable pouch holds a lot of small stuff and the front pouch held maps, manuals, etc. Hidden tripod support. Plenty of room and small enough to use as a carry-on.
Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Strong Construction
Summary: It has good straps, and its very comfortable on the back! The space inside its good for dslr with 80-200 f2.8, 18-70,50f1.8,flash,charger,hood..etc... I dont like the tripod strap,it could be done simpler and better! And i could use an extra pocket,on the exterior, the one on the side its kind of small!
Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Strong Construction
