Minor changes would make a better bag

David L, WEX
9 December 2014
  • Summary: If Kata had put two zip toggles on the main compartment, making it accessable for both sides at the same time instead of one at a time, this would have made for a much better bag.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable
  • Cons: Hard To Access Equipment, Zips Very Stiff

Great lightweight backpack

Phil, WEX
5 December 2014
  • Summary: I've bought this backpack for day trips and individual outings when I don't need my whole lot of cameras and equpiment available. The first impression of the bag was "Uh, that's small!". And yes, I think you'd have difficulties getting a fullframe DSLR with battery grip and telephoto lens in there. However, you can easily fit a camera with a medium size lens, flash, and two smaller lenses in there.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight, Small Size, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Slightly Cramped Feel

  • Summary: I used this at the Nottinghill carnival, dreadful weather, kept kit dry, easy access and use it as a support while in front of me.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy, Strong Construction

Somewhat disappointing

Denis the Menace, WEX
19 August 2014
  • Summary: This item came as a freebie with a camera purchase - I would have been much more disappointed had I paid for it. I struggled to fit in much more than an APS-C camera with mid-zoom lens fitted, flash gun, charger and spare battery. I could probably have got in another small lens but I certainly couldn't get in a 100-400 zoom. That said it does provide a good level of protection both externally and with well padded adjustable dividers.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Hard To Access Equipment, Too Small

Brilliant concept

Roy, WEX
13 August 2014
  • Summary: Bit fiddly at first but you soon get used to the layout and the size makes it ideal for cabin baggage on a plane. Very impressed so far. The compartment on the top is a great asset and big enough for most day needs, especially passports and long haul needs on those overnight flights etc. I have found using a rucksack in the past has often left me searching around every nook and cranny for something I needed.

Well made and flexible

  • Summary: I've not used this out and about yet (came free with camera I bought) - I have a Kata backpack already that I love as its pretty versatile. This one is a bit boxy but can hold more gear - downside is there ain't much room for personal gear if you plan to go off the beaten track - barely get a decent waterproof in the top section.I also have a Lowepro Photo Sport and that is great for carrying personal gear and a DSLR plus a couple of lenses - its also very light. This is...

Not what I was expecting

Shutternutter, WEX
13 November 2013
  • Summary: I bought this online looking for something small and convenient to carry my D800 and a few lenses. It really wasn't what I was expecting and I took it straight back for an exchange. I found it complicated to put on, not particularly practical and not especially well padded. It is not a bad bag, it just wasn't for me - bags are very personal and I should have known better than to buy a bag online without viewing first.
  • Pros: Adjustable Harness
  • Cons: Cumbersome, Hard To Access Equipment, Too Small

Superb bit of Kit

NIKON, WEX

Nice Bag

Simon, WEX
24 September 2013
  • Summary: This is a great bag! There is plenty of space in the camera equipment section for your camera body and two lenses, the top section is small though. This makes the bag ideal for a day out but not much more. I have struggled to fit lunch and a you will not be able to carry a drinks bottle. Other than that the bag is strong and well made, the sling makes it very easy to access your equipment quickly and the rain cover does keep everything dry.
