Excerpt: Simple looking well constructed bag. A good size for a DSLR and a couple of lenses. I like a lot about this bag, it's plain looks don't shout 'camera bag' and it's a great size to carry around when you want a camera on hand. What drives me nuts is the terrible design of the front pockets, they're totally open and if the bag rolls onto it's back it seems to me cards and batteries etc could easily fall out. Why not just one slim pocket with a zip?
Excerpt: This is a perfect size bag for travel and to carry a 70-200mm f2.8.Nevertheless, the two front pocket are totaly helpless due to their size.I've returned the J-5XC Bag to B&H in exchange to the F-5XZ hoping that the two front pocket would be deeper since their is no bottom zipper on the J-5XZ. Unfortunately Domke did not think of making bigger front pocket to be used as a valuable additional storage. It has allready cost me $ to have returned the first bag.
Excerpt: I purchased the DOMKE camera bag after much researching what I need.Quality built, just the right size for My Equipment(as my wife calls it) I keep my Lumix FZ-35 extra batteries charger GB chip, plus my Lumix LX5 ,its batteries, charger small camera bag,GBchip, remember my cameras are the compact type ,however this bag does just what I had in mind, great for vacations ,good materials not cheapie types. The right size for my endeavors.
Pros: Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight, Strong Construction, Well Padded
Excerpt: I returned this bag after exchanging it from the "Medium" size J-5XB which I found too small. I wasn't happy with the "boxy" look and feel of this bag and felt like I wanted something slightly smaller, but not as small as the J-5XB. It's a shame because I love the construction and quality of Domke's ballistic bags and wish I was using one as a day bag, but the size of both the J-5XC and J-5XB unfortunately just didn't fit my needs.
Excerpt: The bag does everything just right for my needs. Great for my setup: Holds Canon 60D with 6" lens, a second 6" lens, and up to 9" video mic. The large flap with strong velcro holds my monopod and manfrotto fluidhead secure enough to hike with. It's holding a lot of equipment, but you would never know it by how flat it is.
Pros: Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight, Strong Construction, Well Padded
Excerpt: I needed a bag to house a Panasonic Micro Four Thirds kit. The bag is great in combination with the insides used from the Domke ballistic F6 (little bit smaller bag). I fit the GF-1 with 14-45, 7-14, and 45-200 or the Metz 48-AF 1 in place of one of the lenses. I also fit an extra battery for both camera and flash. The contents are still protected even after moving the flap out of the way since the bag also zippers. I was also able to fit a couple filters, lens wipe too.
Pros: Compact Design, Does not shout camera bag, Good for Travel, Highly Compatible, Improves Performance, Professional Quality
Excerpt: I've had a difficult time picking the right bag. It needed to be big enough, but not too big; durable and padded, but not bulky... etc. The Domke J-5XC is fantastic in this regard. It's just slightly smaller than I thought it would be, based on the pictures (had I paid attention to the actual dimensions, I would have had a better idea). Still, it fits everything I need it to, and is surprisingly roomy given the compactness.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy To Use, Highly Compatible, Professional Quality
Excerpt: This bag will fit a full size dslr and 2 lenses easily. It looks just like any simple black bag I would normally carry. There are extra pockets for cards, batteries & other camera essentials plus you can dedicate a pocket or two for personal items. Would have given 5 stars if it had a top handle and if the velcro were not so loud (although this could serve as a good theft deterrent). It's very well made and I don't hesitate to recommend it.
