Summary: The Canon PSC-5000 case is a classic looking item that fits the Canon G9 very well, but that's about all that fits; no room for conversion adapter, lens, manuals, external flash. Not even room for extra battery or SD cards unless you put it in the little side pouch. Would prefer to see a little more padding on the interior of the case as well.
Pros: Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight
Cons: Controls Not Protected, Doesn't Cushion Camera Well
Summary: This case is well made and stylish. It is slightly bulky, which makes sense as the G9 is also slightly bulky when compared with today's point and shoots. I think they could have devised a better method for storing extra media cards and a battery than the "side car" add on pouch which really looks and functions like an after-thought. It is this one feature that kept me from giving this 5 stars.
Summary: Its a nice, semi-hard, leather case that provides pretty good protection and even has a little attached case for a spare battery. The only drawback, and I almost returned it for this reason, is the cheesy little weak magnet snaps that are on the main flap...mine wont stay shut and so I have to wrap a rubberband around it.
Pros: Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight, Well Padded
Summary: This case is a nice addition to the G9. I agree with the other reviewer that the magnetic clasp could be better, but mine has not opened on its own. One thing not mentioned is that after pulling up the top magnetic flap, there is another front flap that covers the G9 and folds forward.
